Razer Mouse Dock Pro Synapse Lighting Bug | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have the basilisk v3 pro and the mouse dock pro. I have Synapse 3 downloaded and everything is paired. The only issue I'm having is the mouse dock pro lightning will not turn off when the computer shuts down even though the option is selected. The mouse rgb will turn off, but the dock switches to rainbow rgb and never turns off. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling synapse, but the issue is still present. I just wanted to make a post so hopefully Razer is aware of the issue.

Currently working with Razer support to try and diagnose the issue. Will update once I’ve got somewhere with them.

Das habe ich auch schon versucht, leider will man da nichts machen oder man kann es nicht machen, ich habe auch keine Ahnung warum so was nicht in einer Woche behoben wurde, sogar in Synapse 4  Beta ist es genau so…

The issue I have is my dock, and mouse have a solid 50/50 on if my lighting profiles even load on startup. I have to manually go in and open chroma studio and as soon as it loads my mouse and dock, the lights fix themselves. OH WAIT, were not done yet.. After a short time the lights revert back to default cycle, for zero reason. This is on synapse 4 beta however.

The fact that they cannot solve an issue like this with the lighting is kind of hilarious at this point.

Well, I’m still working with Razer support. After speaking with 3 different people, it’s now been escalated to Level 2 support. I’ve asked numerous times - “give me the previous release, and I can verify if it’s a bug in the new release”, but nope, just have to keep going through the motion for now.

Habe ich auch schon alles gemacht, war auch beim höchsten Razer Support Level, den noch wurde der Fehler bisher immer noch nicht behoben, das heißt wohl einfach sie können es nicht ändern… leider….

But the strange thing is, it worked fine in the previous release… I don’t understand why they can’t just provide me with the old version. I would happily disable auto-update!

Well after much back-and-forth with Razer support, this was their latest response:

“We would like to inform you that we have escalated your case to our developer team for investigation and issue replication. While we don't have an estimated time for a solution, we will provide it through a software update. To ensure that you receive the update, please make sure to regularly update your System and Synapse software.”

So, that’s it for now. I don’t have high hopes, but we’ll see.

Now i deactivated fastboot on windows and that doesn't worked. I found in bios quickboot function and deactivated that too. Now it works again. Pls try that and share does it worked for you too or not.

Nevermind. It's full random. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Random indeed. I uninstalled synapse, then launched driver cleanup tool I have found here on forum, then made clean install - all problem I had with mouse, keyboard and dock vanished. But after few reboots all returned. Now clean install does not help how it helped for the first time. I don't understand how it works and I don't understand why Razer developers do not work on their own mice and keyboards. This software is unbearably ugly. What is their QA department doing?

This is ridiculous that its still not fixed.

Let me say I always had only Logitech products. End of 2023 I got a new PC and decided to switch the everything to Razer (except for headphones).

I have spent in excess of 700 euros on peripherals.

The results:

BlackWidow V4 Pro, a 270 Euro keyboard defective out of the box, 2-3 keys were either not typing anything when pressed or occasionally double or triple typing it. Since they were not so much used keys I lived with it until a month later it started to also do this for ‘W’ and ‘Space’ so it had to be changed.

But the most frustrating is the Dock Pro. I also have a Strider Chroma and a Basilisk V3 Pro.

All the device RGBs can turn off when putting the computer to sleep EXCEPT for the dock. Or rather I stand corrected, the dock does turn off too for about a minute, when it decides it will turn back on red which is horrible in a totally dark room. I have absolutely no idea why it can’t be fixed, the option is there ‘Turn off lighting when monitor is off’ and it works for the keyboard, the mouse, the mousepad but not the dock.

Of course I tried to open a ticket we got to the point where I was asked for many logs from the system which I failed to answer in 24 hours and the case got closed, but it is clear from this thread that my system isn’t probably the issue here.

I have the same problem with the lights, the doc pro and the mouse are still on when I turn off the pc, I have set sinapse to turn off after minutes and when I turn off the screen but it doesn't work, it's all new and newly installed. I don't understand how after 1 year this is not fixed, the truth is that I will NOT buy more Razer, if they do not give me a solution to this I will return it.

Saludos.

Das Problem wurde immer noch nicht behoben !!! RAZER !!!  Bitte behebt das Problem !

Same issue here, my apologies but how long does fixing this issue takes? How did the current version got validated and approved? It is a pretty basic function… I ruins my whole setup.

Please Razer, for all i care compile a test version for insiders use. Happy to test it.

Thanks for taking care of your customers.

hey. i had the same problem after the update. i saw in the synapse settings this update removed  the check off from ,,display off” thing. then i clicked on that and it works again. i hope you know what i mean.

Does your function still work? In my former laptop, It still works great, but I tried install a new win11, and only install the latest synapse, It works great at the first time, but no works later, I don’t know what happened, pls tell me does your still works right now?

hello, after new fresh install works first or second time after that doesn’t work anymore. at updates too. they broke it with an update. but they work really seriously about that problem at the moment.

I finally made it work 😁 by applying these steps:

Running Synapse 3.9.516.51517

  1. In Synapse Turn off "’Switch off lightning” for Razor Mouse Dock Pro (tab Lightning)
  2. Exit all "All apps” via the tray icon
  3. Run below script as batch (run as Admin, adjust path of last line to match your installation)
TASKKILL /FI "IMAGENAME eq Razer*" /F
TASKKILL /FI "IMAGENAME eq Rz*" /F
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host\Razer Synapse 3.exe"
  1. In Synapse Turn back ON  "’Switch off lightning” for Razor Mouse Dock Pro (tab Lightning)

This did it for me, now when I put PC to sleep, the dock light goes out 😆 (finally)

The script works also nice when Synapse is acting up (I face some Philips HUE issues sometimes and the script fixes it without the need of rebooting PC)

Hope it can help you too.

I just changed from Huntsman Mini/Naga Pro to Huntsman V3 Pro TKL/Naga V2 Pro and I’m having same issue again it’s definitely a Synapse issue since I’ve been using Razer products for over 18 years now and the functionality “Turn off lighting when display is off” used to work with older Synapse versions.

I have currently Synapse 4 and it’s definitely a bug.

Razer used to be really good when it comes to support I’ve got so much help, but now it feels like it’s all automated and same reply to whatever you ask them.

2 years ago this thread were opened and you guys at Razer haven’t replied/released a solution.

It’s not just about selling products, you need to maintain your customers, fan base is everything.

They don’t care about us. they shit on us. they just want more money. fix a critical bug don’t care them. you can see that since 2 years. since 2 years i use all my razer products without RGB because of this bug.

@TheRealShadowHunter

Unfortunately is not working, after restart or power off, the dock goes back to original state … your script is only “killing the process” and starting up Synapse again, nothing more …

As many users around here, i tried everything in my power to get the RGB lights to stay off when PC is off and power is delivered to USB.

I do understand the need for the mouse light to flash or stay on as it shows you that the mouse is charging and the current level of the charge, but for the dock to be always on … i literally see no point for it.

All the other peripherals that have the function to switch the lights off when display is of, are working seamlessly, for the dock … does literally nothing (no matter if is on or off), the lights will always be on.

For the Lucky ones like me, having a Razer Charging Pad Chroma, i can exclude the dock from my setup and use the charging pad instead … and use the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro USB dongle that came with the mouse to pair both keyboard and mouse. We had the exact same problem with the charging pad in the past - which has been sorted, why cant the same thing be done for the dock?

I cant believe that this is still an issue after 2 years since launch … does anyone from Razer really do read this posts?

As my fellow people in here, brought the problem to Razer few times and all i get back is the GENERIC response like restart, reinstall, update and so on … nothing really specific regarding this matter …

I still have hopes that this will be fixed (one day - maybe), at least give us the option to turn lights off when display is off (that is all that we ask for - make it work as all the other Razer products that have function and it works).

Until then, all the best !!!

The only way to fix this issue is stop using that dock.
And stop using Razer’s products whatsoever I guess.

Two years they can’t add a simple function that turns OFF the lighting when:

  1. nothing chargers;
  2. no communication via USB with PC.
