I've had my 3080 360hz for 2 weeks and loving it. I'm getting a strange flickering when the monitor is set at 360hz, but other than that I'm loving it. My first choice was the alienware m15 but since their finance department was giving me the runaround with my approved account, I just couldn't wait on them. When I got the stock notification, I ordered on Monday, it shipped on Tuesday and I received it on Wednesday. I've been playing Control at max settings and ray tracing set to high and it looks great. I see a lot of people complain about the fan noise, but it really isn't that bad. It does get a little hot, but I expect it since its so slim and sexy. Dell giving me the run around worked out better for me. I hope you guys are as happy with it as I am.

Interesting. So it must be the QHD screen that's causing the delay. I cannot believe that support doesn't know what's going on. The silence from Razer on this is very disappointing (but not surprising unfortunately). They should provide us with an update.

I researched it after the fact and see I'm not alone with the issue. There's a vid on youtube with a guy who has the same model with the exact same flicker I'm experiencing. I found it can be an nvidia issue since they rolled out another discrete firmware update for the 3060 cards. Razercross reached out to me in another thread and i already sent him all the system info. Fingers crossed, Razer will find the issue causing it.

I think the RB15 QHD 3080s are starting to ship 😉
I've recently made an order for a RB 15 2021 Advanced 240hz QHD RTX 2080 32GB RAM 1TB SSD model.

As this was purchased in the UK, I wanted to ask some things which were not clear from ordering:

1. Is this just primary key backlighting or has this now been updated to also do secondary in UK? Previously it appeared you had to buy in US to get secondary key backlighting.

2. There is no mention of G-Sync or advanced Optimus on the website, but I believe the 240hz QHD model (from press/reviews) has G-Sync and advanced Optimus. Could you confirm this is the case in UK?

3. Do you use optical switches on the keyboards? No mention of this anywhere.

1. It should wait the real unit on user to confirm but from blade pro 17 2021 3080 from UK user on this video it’s still not backlighted.
2. Yes it’s stated on website click on qhd clarity on screen options you’ll see this.

3. I don’t think so, if it use it I think it’ll definitely be mentioned since it’ll be a selling point. Last optical mechanic keyboard was on 2019 advanced 15 model btw.

Thank you as always. For some reason couldn’t see any mention on it on the UK site on the config itself (https://www.razer.com/gb-en/gaming-laptops/Razer-Blade-15/RZ09-0367CWD3-R3W1) but instead on some obscure part of the Blade 15 landing page . Shame about the secondary lighting, why is it so difficult to ship international laptops with full key RGB?

I think the RB15 QHD 3080s are starting to ship ;)

Why do you think that? My order was placed within minutes of them going up and hasn’t moved at all.

I ordered just a couple of days ago and it shipped yesterday. Advanced QHD 3080 mode. This is an order in UK.

Confirmed. Mine is on a plane to me in NYC right now.
Sad with no update yet but I pre-ordered on the 12th of Jan. Hopefully you guys getting yours means a shipping confirmation heading my way soon! Fingers crossed your Blades arrive safely 🙂

Received the RB15 Advanced QHD RTX 3080 this morning. So far, I am happy. Without actually doing anything to maximize the performance, I am getting about the performance in the tiny RB15 frame with 95 W GPU as I had with the 150 W RTX 2080 Super in the Alienware 17" while the RB15 appears far cooler and quieter. Razer has done a superb job of balancing performance, heat, and fans. They are wizards at hitting the right balance IMO. Dollar well spent.

BTW - The keyboard has improved since my RB17 with the RTX 2080 max-q.

Next stop is Cyberpunk on this machine.

EDIT: OK, under real gameplay with performance set to max GPU and BOOST CPU, this RB gets toasty toasty.

Is your refresh rate limited to 60hz on Windows desktop?
Userlevel 3
No - Not while plugged in. See attached pic.
Userlevel 3
BTW - Not sure what is going on with it showing 2 displays... I don't have the laptop plugged in to a monitor.

On a side note - I have never used a 240 Hz display before. Wow. Not sure I am able to see all those frames but whatever I can see is amazing.

Thank you for checking. Seeing 2 monitors is because that's how Advanced Optimus works.

If I use the NVIDIA control panel and set the Display Mode to "Automatic Select" then in Desktop it selects Optimus and in that case it is limited to 60 Hz (as expected).
I keep getting an Optimus error message saying iCloud.exe has stopped it switching - although clearly it has as the game FPS is quite high even though Nvidia control panel shows iGPU.

Mine is locked at 60hz plugged in on my 3080 QHD. It doesn’t show the 240hz option. I’m not sure why, I just got the laptop today and haven’t messed with any settings or installed any drivers at all.

First go to the NVIDIA control panel and switch display mode to the discrete graphics. Then go to the advanced display settings under windows settings, select the gsync panel, then select 240hz.

It appears a bug exists wherein whenever you switch away from the dGPU and then switch back (either manually or via Optimus), the refresh rate of the panel is reset to 60Hz even if you had it set at 240Hz previously. Refresh rate control is in multiple places (windows advanced display settings, the Razer Synapse tool, ?) so not sure where the bug is but hopefully they will be fixing this issue.

Also, I can't seem to really get whisper mode to work. It is enabled in Ge Force Experience if the laptop is in Balanced mode. But I would not describe the fans as making a "whisper" level of noise when all available settings are set to the lowest fan speed.

I can confirm this works to get the 240hz refresh rate, however I find it hard to believe this is the intended way to deal with this issue? For one, why wouldn't the QHD laptop come configured with a 240hz refresh rate and G-SYNC enabled by default as was advertised? I'm also assuming this forgoes the automatic iGPU/dGPU display adapter switching for improved battery life? Either Advanced Optimus, G-SYNC, or the 240Hz refresh rate do not all work together in harmony right now in any possible configuration or I'm just missing something.

There are currently eight different places that deal with the refresh rate or automatic GPU switching, which makes solving this problem very non-trivial. The BIOS, the display adapter properties in the Control Panel, the Windows 10 "Advanced display settings" and new "Graphics settings" page, the Intel Graphics Command Center "Display" page, the "Manage 3D settings" and "Manage Display mode" task in NVIDIA Control Panel, and finally the "PERFORMANCE" tab in Razer Synapse -- all have poorly documented, potentially subtly different affects.

The confusion is compounded when you consider the blameless assumption that maybe it's the result of some overaggressive default power-saving settings. Mind you, power settings have just as many disorganized setting management locations littered throughout a default installation.

I just want to appreciate the "240Hz Ultra-Fast Refresh Rate" OEM sticker that's so proudly affixed on the lid. 😩
Still waiting on my Amazon preorder here in germany.

So 240hz is only working when using dGPU only? Kinda sad that this is not working automatically with advanced optimus...

But Gsync then (dGPU only) is working fine, is it? Downside until this is eventually getting fixed ist poor battery while not plugged in, correct?

Workaround is to enable/disable dGPU only mode when starting a game, correct? Downside here is 60hz while browsing the web etc.

Hope this will get fixed soon!
