TL;DR My laptop fried my SSD. Was it a faulty SSD or some faulty hardware in my laptop? Just a regular day opening my browser and I get a windows blue screen with UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION error. Upon restart, the laptop is stuck at the logo screen with the options to go into BIOS, Recovery Mode and Boot Options. The only option that was working was Recovery Mode. Once in the settings, under boot options there is no storage device being detected. I checked the NVMe tab and there was no NVMe devices detected as well (laptop comes with 256 NVMe M.2 SSD). Luckily I had planned to upgrade to a 512 SSD and already had one so I switched out the 256 for the 512. The 512 SSD was being detected in the settings as well as the NVMe devices tab. To check if it was an issue with the SSD itself, I put the 256 SSD in my desktop and booted normally from another drive with the OS. Once logged into windows, I did not see the 256 SSD from the laptop being detected anywhere. I restarted my desktop (
Morning, Handsome Nerds! I have a problem I know you can fix. My (excellent) Core X Chroma with a Radeon VII installed is spinning up _hardcore_ every time the iMac goes to sleep. It's a bit of a drag, really: I suck enough power as it is, and I'd really appreciate being able to shut down the screens and leave it running. Any ideas? Thanks so much, T
Hey Folks, So someone I know is going to upgrade their core v1 to the core x chroma for the sake of better power delivery for his new laptop. Since I do not need power delivery for my blade 15 (advanced 2060, 8750h) I offered to buy his v1 and he said yes! I have no experience with any razer cores and I was wondering what kind of performance I would be looking at if I installed a 2060 super or 2070 super (1070ti and 1080 user replies would be helpful as well) if I could even use those cards at all with the in-built power supply. I was also wondering if any of you know if using the i/o affects performance in real life when gaming/using adobe apps as I do have many peripherals on my desk and can always use more usb/ethernet. Thanks, -freshRUBYPhlox526
I have submitted a support ticket, but thought it might be worth asking here also... My new Razer Core X Chroma arrived today - it was well packaged and protected, looked brand new... but... When I connect the power and switch on, it's totally dead. Is it defective or have I missed something obvious? I replaced the power cable, same issue, power is plugged in, plug is switched on (UK 3 pin with switch), and the switch on the back of the Core is also on.
I wanted to share this with you guys as well as Razer support (I have already emailed them separately). Currently, if you try to plug an eGPU into an Ice Lake laptop (including the Blade Stealth GTX 1650) it will result in audio static and popping, as well as extremely laggy performance. This was driving me absolutely nuts. I ran across this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/eGPU/comments/d738cs/dell_xps_13_7390_icelake_2_in_1_laptop_core_x/ Turns out that currently, in order to use an eGPU with an Ice Lake system, you need to go into Device Manager and disable the integrated Intel Iris Plus graphics. I assume this is a bug in Intel's driver and hopefully a fix can be pushed quickly, but until then anyone who buys one of the new Blade Stealths won't be able to use it with an eGPU without this fix. Hope this helps someone else.
I'm kicking around the idea of taking the plunge on the razer once again thanks to their holiday incentives running. I'm hopeful that some folks here can chime in. Depending on where (or who) you ask, you'll get some fairly negative responses related to Razer's quality. Yet most of the reviews liken the Razer to the solid build quality of Apple. I'd like members here to chime in on their first-hand experience - I'm hoping to get a 3 to 4 years out of a laptop. Is that feasible? Support, I now that razer worked hard a few years back to improve matters, have they in fact improved? 15" Base model vs advanced. I'll be looking to get the base and I see some of the differences, but I'm a bit confused over the keyboard. They mention single zone chroma? Does the secondary keys light up? I recall the 2018 razer blade's secondary keys do not, such as the the Function keys or @#$% keys Any gotchas or concerns or recommendations with the base 2060 model with 144hz screen?
Dear community, From day 1, the brightness control (via software or via fn+keys) is not working on windows 10. Although the slider does move, there is no increase or decrease of the screen brightness. The current brightness seems to be the maximum level at this moment. Has anyone got this problem? Which driver this is related to? I have re-installed all drivers from razer website for this model, and the problem still persists. I have installed Dual-boot with Arch Linux next to Windows, and brightness control on Linux works well. Any ideas?
I've recently got a razer blade 15 2019 base model, 512gb, rtx2060. The battery life on Battery Saver lasts about 5 hours when playing youtube videos (as a test for workload). Nothing else is running except for the OS and Chrome playing YouTube. I've tested it by playing a youtube live stream, with 30% audio and about 30% keyboard lighting (1 static color setting on synapse). From 100% fully charged, it died after 5 hours. Is this normal? How do you guys extend battery life? I've tried ways like using Dark theme, integrated graphics instead of NVidia graphics.
I have a Razer Blade Pro 17" 4K with the 1080, 32 gigs of ram I believe the 2017. I am wondering (hoping) that I can run the Core X Chroma either with another 1080 to double my power for rendering oR just outright blast off with utilizing an RTX 2080 Ti as I have one in my desktop. It would bring my portable travel work game to the next level. I realize you cant run an RTX and GTX card together as one powerhouse. What are my options? Thanks!
I've had this in my shopping cart for a while (in the meantime, it went from 'Buy' to 'Notify me'), but I just cannot get myself to buy a mercury white laptop. Ideally, I'd prefer a 10th gen Intel part with all the Spectre and related flaws [supposedly] fixed, but the H-series have still not been released, and I'm tired of waiting; so, I _would_ actually click the button, if only the color were gunmetal gray or just ordinary black... BTW, this seems to be some sort of a brain-dead trend. Dell's Alienware 15m R2 is _also_ "Lunar White" **only**, if you want an OLED UHD display with an RTX 2080... I cannot fathom *why* they wouldn't apply the same OLED treatment to their "Dark side of the Moon" color scheme... (Of course, now Alienware is back where Razer was a few years ago with **soldered** RAM; so, the 15m is really a non-starter...)
Hey, I just bought a razer blade 15 from best buy as an open box return... I've spent my afternoon trying to get it all set up and was a little confused that the HDD was running at what feels like full speed constantly. I did alot of digging and found that everything was installed on the 2TB HDD and that the 250GB SSD was completely unallocated... I imagine that's not how its supposed to be. I don't know if there is a way to clone the os to the SSD or if a completely new install with a thumb drive is going to be required to fix this... and even then I'm not sure if its a matter of a thumb drive install and a reformatting of the 2TB drive... Would that screw up the razer specific functionality/vanity? any help?
Hi, I am currently in France and I was looking for buying the new advanced Blade 15 with the new keyboard which has been released 2 weeks ago in the US. However, it is not yet available on the french store (nowhere in the EU in fact). Do any of you guys know when it will be released ? And is it worth waiting for it ?
The charger for my RB 2017 decided to give up on me. when I looked it up on Razer Store, its continuously out of stock for the past 3 to 4 months. Is there any other place from where I can get one? I tried looking for substitutes on Ali Express but could only find huge chunky chargers which already looked shady enough to be used on the device. Any help would be appreciated. TKS.

I Was In The Process Of Changing My 512GB SSD When I Open Up The Back panel The SSD Screw Looked Angled , and broke off. What Do Do Now ?
Hi, I've just purchased a Razer Blade 15 Advanced (Mid 2019) and could not be happier with it except for one thing. The volume level of my headset (3.5mm) and inbuilt (external) microphone is extremely low; to a point where I can't be understood. I've tried multiple headset, checking every setting, ensured the audio driver is up to date, reinstalled the driver, ensured Windows/BIOS/Firmware is up to date. I have had no luck. My thoughts are an issue with the Realtek driver. I have read elsewhere that other people have experienced this and have resorted to using the generic Windows audio driver to get things working to an extent. Is this a known issue? Has anyone else had a similar experience? Max
i have a razer mechanical keyboard with an azerty layout that i want to turn into a qwerty layout , is it possible to do this by changing the keycaps and calibrating each key ?
Hi! I wonder if the huntsman elite with the linear switches has a Nordic layout or is it only the US layout that exists?
It's been about a year since Brad Ling and Notebookcheck highlighted the strange power limit behavior on the Blade Stealth Early 2019. Namely, that this 25W CPU will, for seemingly no reason, adopt a 15W power limit, even when the temperatures are low, it's plugged in with a 100W power supply, the dedicated GPU isn't being utilized, and Synapse is set to Creator Mode. I've found with my own unit, that my CPU will run just great, boosting up to 40W and then settling down to 25W consistently for weeks on end, only to suddenly refuse to go above 15W power limit, even after rebooting, toggling Synapse power settings, etc. Does anyone have the knowledge of BIOS/CPU's/etc. to explain this behavior? To be clear: I know that there are workarounds where you can trick the BIOS into giving more power to the CPU. But I want to know when and why it (seemingly) randomly gets stuck at a 15W in Creator Mode. There has to be an explanation to the behavior, but as far as I can tell there is no one th
Hi there, I would love, love, love to buy the new razer blade 15 with the 4K oled screen, but I see that it is only available in the US. Any information as to when it would be available in Europe? Thank you N.
I ran into that glitch with Windows 10 where it was no longer able to recognize the Nvida card on my edge. At first I thought the card had gone bad, but I did a restore using the USB stick and it's right there now I'm back to Windows 8. I'm not sure if I want to go back to Windows 10, but I did like being able to stream games from the Xbox One to my Edge. Before I get started, I wanted to know if there are any better ways to go about it. Should I still follow the steps to get it upgraded to 8.1 first or is there a way I can go straight to 10? Is there any way to fix issues like auto-rotate no longer working, the screen flip, or "loosing" my Nvida card again?
Hello, can someone help where can I buy touchpad / trackpad flex cable that white and blue thing for razer blade 14 late 2017, my battery bloated and the cable kind broke or strip apart.
I purchased my RTX advanced blade in March of this year. I have used and gamed on the system daily and overall the gaming experience has been good. The games I play run fine and temps are what you would expect from a compact laptop with a 2070 gpu. The build quality is the big issue for me. To date I have had 3 chargers fail. The 3.5 mm jack has stopped working. The battery will only last 1.5 hours just browsing the web. I have not tried to game on the battery so I can't say how long it would last under high gpu load. Support has been a challenge to deal with. I opened a support request with Razer and after 7 days with no response I contacted chat. They asked me to update the bios and do some battery troubleshooting. I get these are general steps to do before and RMA is issued but the tech could not understand that I don not have a working charger and no way to power up the laptop. So now they are refusing to RMA the device until I get a charger and troubleshoot the batte
Posting here as I'm not getting help on this from support (no ticket response). The rubber pad on the 2019 stealth is lost and need to replace. Is there a place to buy them without having to ship the laptop away for weeks. There is a similar forum post but seems to go nowhere: /razer-blade-stealth-2019-rubber-pads.50329/ Thanks
I just picked up the new blade stealth. 10th gen i7, 1650, 4k touch model and the core x chroma with a 1080ti in it. I was wondering if the quest would make use of the 1080 ti vs the 1650 when plugged in through oculus link because it would technically be plugged into the laptop itself and not the core. Any insight?
