No, I had not considered buying a skin. Thank you for the suggestion! I will look into this option.

This laptop seems awesome but I need it in Mercury White. I'm looking for a super compact 17" and am a professional user in an office setting. I am not a creator, so Razer Blade Studio 17 may be overkill. I want premium specs for business applications, web surfing and watching videos. Please release a mercury white version of Razer Blade Pro 17 and I will buy it.

Have you considered buying a white skin?

Ram is same. I havent upgraded yet. Was thinking about it. I had good experience with razer support with my blade 4k 7820hk gtx 1080. That's what prompted me to buy the blade 15 rtx2080mq.

But i felt burnt. Razer San Francisco store manager told me razer got rid of pro razer blade (he didnt say razer did this, but said razer is abandoning 17 18 inchers).

Now that i got so many bsod from laptop i got on feb 5th 2019. im thinking of leaving razer.

As usual im jumping between topics since im losing my trail of thoughts.

Actually i got two bsod today. The first one was the usual nvidia driver crashing.

Yeah this really isn't contributing to me deciding Razer as my next laptop, hope they fix it asap!

reddit people say bsod occurs more when laptop is running on battery. yes just now my video tdr failure happened when laptop was running on battery.

I see, did you try various nvidia drivers, or put back the original ram see if bsod still happens? Can you link me the Reddit link btw, it’ll help me seeing why on battery this happens, my guess is on your new ram, not quite sure though.

Did you manage to solve it? If not which windows version is it? Heard on nvidia forum recently new driver push dch drivers on 1903. I saw a lot bsod issues with rtx laptops not only Razer the culprit is between Nvidia, Intel or microsoft. Users from each brands search their own solution, but mostly bsod is caused by drivers incompatible with some hardware. I don’t have bsod issues recently because I don’t update anything lol, stay not to update as long I don’t have issues.

It's out. Blade pro. I got a call today from my local razer store here in San Francisco... like 10 hours ago. To pick up my reserved unit. However... I'm having a change of heart. Why? My blade 15 2080mq got ram failure bsod. Wtf. I just got it less than 3 months. The bsod says "page fault, in nonpaged area". I googled this and they say it's a ram failure. Fml. I just spoke to razer support for repair.. got this blade 2080mq on feb 5th guys...tsk tsk tsk.

RBP 17 2080 just shipped from HK via Fedex, supposed to be here Thurs. Going to try some undervolting/benchmarking and see what it's capable of. Upgrading to 32GB RAM and adding a 1TB SSD to the spare slot once it gets here.

Damn 1tb ssd, hope you picked it up recently cause the prices are super low at the moment

Because this panel doesn’t exist yet and RBP studio will also come later sometime in the fall. Plus 4K 120Hz, it’s nice though but for gaming 2080maxq would struggle handling nowadays triple A titles on that resolution with maximizing screen refresh rate and by hearing 4K 120Hz I smell already $ lol, like hearing a work station laptop.

Some of us aren't as concerned about the money. Sure, I don't want to overpay if I don't have to, but i'd rather have what I want and pay for it.

For now i'm settling for my LG gram 17. It's not quite 4k at 2560x1600 but it's WAY better than FHD. Yeah, it's only got integrated graphics but it's light as heck, inconceivable battery life, thin bezel, and has the display i need for my work. Hopefully Razer can give me a model some day that will fit my needs AND my wants.

Apparently a great 4K panel will be put in the new studio addition : "The new Blade Pro 17 Studio Edition, meanwhile, sets the bar a little higher with a speedy 4K 120Hz display panel."

So why not offer this panel for the RTX 2080 RBP 17???

Running at an almost consistent 4.1ghz @ 66 degrees on stock settings? I'm sold, incredible thermals considering it's size.

Ordered the 2080 version with an estimated ship date of May 31. Support chat said that they're still waiting on inventory and it could ship sooner but no later than that.

No it depends on Razer how they limit it. 4,1ghz on dave2d Video is Max boost frequency all cores, we don’t know what he’s doing on that around an hour usage, I don’t think only firestrike. It’s averaging around 3,3ghz all cores from the sensor. One thing for sure from that picture is that physical (cpu) score isn’t right but graphics score , probably ucpu ndervolting can help increasing both graphics and physical scores. We can know only average core boost frequency by seeing cpu graph while running stress test or cpu benchmark like from Intel XTU etc.

Congrats!

from where???
What about the battery? Smaller than the 15? I think that's a bad thing. Looks great though.

I kinda became famous at razer sf. the store manager knows me now. lolol. I hang out there asking about blade pro every other day despite me being on the call list for blade pro notification.
I just spoke to store associate at razer San Francisco today. They said the blade pro 2019 went into production on May 15...That's like very recent. Those dave2d got would be like an engineering sample. so we may not see one until mid june, just like what hidevo told me.
