Camera takes pictures with filters (?)

  1. Some of my pictures would have filters on them and I'm not sure how this happened but I'm pretty sure I didn't turn on filters. Has this happened to anybody?

Same problem with my Razerphone. It's not an intentional applied filters. It's either a software or hardware issue. I have contacted Razer support and done everything they asked me to do. Software is already up to date and did a factory reset. Problem still there. Now waiting for their reply to have the phone replaced. Pretty disappointed. Only had the phone for a week. Argh.

    Example of the "filtered" shot.

  3. Yeah that's the same thing with my phone. I checked and it's up to date. I also just got the phone back from getting replaced 2 weeks ago and I'm gonna be really disappointed if I have to get it replaced twice.

What was the issue you had for the first replacement? Ya, such a bummer for first time customers.

Pretty sure this is software related (Razer camera app). I also have this issue but did not have it prior to the most recent update to the app. Also, I use a different camera app that has much faster shutter speed and have not encountered this issue using when using that app.

Strange that Razer support asked me to return for a replacement if that's the case. They should know better. Also I encountered phone reboot during burst shots. It was only like 6-9 shots and suddenly the phone just reboots and the images were lost.

Which third party camera app is good for Android? I wish there's an IOS Camera+ equivalent in play store.
  7. My phone would turn off in the middle of the night even though when I turn it back on it would still have more than 50% battery. It did it 4 times in a two week span so I had it replaced. I think it might be the software update cause before the update, pictures I would take wouldn't do the filter thing.

There's several that'll work depending on what you're looking for in an app. It seems a lot of people have had great success with the app mentioned here

I will mention this to our engineers to see if there's a fix coming. I believe there have been a few reports about it.

It'll be good to know soon if it's a hardware or software issue that's causing it. Coz it's a pain to have the phone replaced with all the data/apps migration hassle.

Phone was replaced today. Guess what, the problem is still there. Sigh. And now the shutter lag is pretty bad. Caused me to missed quite a few shots. HDR isn't sharp and exposure is way off. Man I dunno what to say... I like the phone a lot but the camera is a real bummer even just for snap shots.
Really hope there's a genuine fix in the camera app soon. The earlier fix doesn't cut it.

I'm having the same issue. A long with the continued issue of this permanent zoom whenever using video on the rear and front facing cameras. Already did a factory reset on my 1st Razer, then had it replaced for a new one, new one same issue after troubleshooting, factory reset, camera app update, and that OTA we received some time ago.

  13. I have the issue too and it is pissing me off.
Hey Razer, when we're supposed to get an update to fix the bug?

I also encountered this bug last night - the yellowish filter on a camera photo but only on one picture out of 2 consecutive. Didn't noticed at 1st but stumbled upon it later on.

Moreover, after a Skype video call which lasted more than an hour, I noticed some..."color inconsistencies" and light reflections: reflective light from my light-spot overlapping my face, and everywhere i moved, it kept reflecting over my face. Imagine my surprise when I saw it in the screenshot I took at that time. And 2nd, during the same Skype session, the friend was displaying in green.. messed up colors. Had to close the call and re-call, the issue not reproducing any more and never since.

My opinion that these bugs are software bugs not hardware. The camera software is the least optimized piece of software from this device, and I avoid using it because there's no point. Hopefully, when Oreo update will come, the devs will award a lot more attention to the camera software. That right there is a dying sensor. It's definitely hardware and not software.

I've noticed this problem a few times. I think it's just a processing issue.

Does it happen with other camera apps? If not its software
