So I'm looking for a linear switch that is light, smooth and fast without any of that "mushy" or "scratchy" feeling... I recently got a keyboard with Cherry's Speed switches and the only problem I have with them is how stiff they can feel. After some research, I've come to realize that Speed switches (in terms of feeling and key travel) are actually stiffer Red's. I've opted to return it and now I'm looking at possibly trying the BlackWidow Chroma V2 with Razer Yellow switches. My question to anyone out there that has experience with mechanical key switches, how do they compare to Speed and Red switches? I just want my keys to feel light to the touch with little resistance and stiffness, just smooth as butter. Will the Yellow switches give me that feeling?
Well, the best method to see if you like the switch is to visit the local store and try the keyboard out. It has a cutout on the box for the arrow keys.
I wish I had a board with yellow switches. I was going by looks alone and knew nothing about mechanical switches. I have the Blackwidow X and to me it is the best looking keyboard of the line-up. I didn't think anything was going to go wrong until she tried to sleep.....
Ya, Razer Oranges are equal to cherry mx browns, Razer Greens are equal to cherry mx blues and Razer Yellows are equal to cherry mx reds and speed.
