I am not a big fan of the tech worlds assumed preference for iPhones. I keep seeing people complain about Razer not offering Android accessories and having a preference for iPhone.

Its just the state of the world right now. Companies want to standardize the phones so that they can more easily profit off of software and accessories. The problem is it puts the market and the economy for the most part in the hands of one gigantic company.

If they did do Android accessories, we would have to have a general idea of the "standard" Android phone. I was a big fan of Samsung until they stopped doing removable batteries and microSD cards.

ASUS, Lenovo, and HTC are good bets but its starting to get annoying to see all the best accessories marketed specifically for iPhones.

    Let's OPEN SOURCE the world.

Nice sentiment, but like you said, the company needs to go where the money is. They know that making a product for the iPhone will guarantee them a larger share of the potential cell phone market.

I think that once 3D printers are ubiquitous there will be a better chance for open source hardware to succeed, allowing people/companies to share their designs for free to anyone and everyone who might want them (or to improve upon them) is something that I'm definitely looking forward to.

Its a great idea for the future! The androids just need to have more of a standard... they are still all over the map in size and it wouldn't be cost effective for Razer to make for each specific phone. I'm with you open source FTW!

My opinion i would think that they should let us to choose whether want the android or apple accessory. Rather than give a bias for one of the brands .

I agree that iPhone has a Apple is the biggest brand, but Android is the biggest market share... and what is up with paying $15 to make my free headphones compatible with the Android phones? The only difference is the order of the wires.... I mean... Come on now...

I might get an iPhone tho if Razer puts out an irressistable device that is iPhone only. I know that defeats the purpose of everything I said but not if you consider the fact that I do IT and B2B consulting. I already know every platform (duh) but I can't help but know how to relate to someone if they are iPhone loyals.

Me tho I might rage if Apple pulls some nonsense for having mobile tech (relatively) on-lock.

Nvm that was stupid Ima stay with this blackberry for now.

    3DMaker is like $300-500 now.

On the other hand, a lot of people have iPhones. iPhones are standardized. There are a lot of different Android models. It's hard to keep track of them. This is why Razer focuses on iPhone.

  12. Yeah, I do think it's a bit absurd. But companies are going to do whatever will make the most money, and with no true standard for android phones, It's hard to make a case, or anything specific to one device, without disregarding the rest. The only thing that doesn't make any sense to me is the how the Kraken mobile headphones are iPhone only, without an accessory that is 15 dollars. In my opinion, that should come standard with the headset.

I thought phone control via headphones was a universal standard?

  14. Maybe there's a site that lets you order custom android cases or something. If such a site exists (and it probably does...I mean, there's one for shirts), you could just give em a razer decal and go from there.

I don't know if someone like me can just go around throwing another company's logo on their own stuff. The thing is... if I were making phone cases... they would have my own logo on it.

I still haven't found a phone worth doing that for, although the PRIV is pretty sick.

It's much easier to make things for iPhones, because there are only a few iPhone models. But there are way too many Android phones.

Also they generally have same software/hardware capabilities.

As said iPhones are standard, while android phones are not. Even if the market share was lower than android phones, the actual number of people owning an iPhone 6/6s will be higher than any other android model. Coming to the headset I agree that having only iOS cable is a bit nonsense but for the other accessories the standard measures help a lot.

I think that investment for Android projects are too large. Iphone has only a few models so it's fine but android has so many different model. They are going to need a lot of time and money to make products for android.
