Razer phone with Bluetooth car audio

Hey all, I hope this is the right place to post, if not a little nudge in the right direction would be great.

So I got the razer phone for Christmas but I've been unable to get audio to play through my car stereo. I can sync the phone to the radio, and I'm sure to receive calls and talk through the system, but it absolutely refuses to play music through the car, instead opting to use the phone speakers.

I've set the Bluetooth to play audio through selected device, but that's about all I can think of.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks

The phone is not broken. It is a bug in the OS. This stuff happens all the time. Razer is not the only one who pushes out an OS update that breaks something. That is the only thing that doesn't work is bluetooth to a car. Plug into the aux port and move on with your life until they fix it.

If you don't like it, sell the phone and buy an expensive bloated samsung, or an expensive pixel. Oh and by the way, the pixel 2's had a ton of issues with the screens. And google finally fixed it. NO ONE is free from mistakes.

It worked fine on 8.1.
This phone IS expensive 700 is not midteir price for a cell phone.

Stop being a Razer fanboy and accept the facts.

First off I am not a razer fanboy. . I'm just not a crybaby and I understand how this stuff works because I am a software engineer and work in software. It is a bug in the OS that was introduced in the last OS update. That's why replacement devices don't fix it and why it worked on the previous version. It's doesn't matter that the previous version was 8.1, it was a different build. THE PHONE IS NOT BROKEN.

Oh and 700 is cheaper than the top tier phones.
xRuhRohx - either way you look at it, it doesnt work anymore. Broken or bug, it still doesnt work.... And whats annoying me the most is how poor customer service are to communicating the fix to this bug/breakage. I had another poor email from them this weekend, I demanded Razer buy me out of my contract due to lack of functionality and not being able to fix the issue in a generous time frame (14 days). They suggested I go (in my own time!) to go and speak to my network provider. Cheek! Confirming I wont buy another Razer product again...

I totally understand the frustration. But fixing and OS issue and pushing it out, isn't a quick process. And yes customer service does leave something to be desired. I just think there are better ways to utilize the forum instead of spouting anger and complaining.

This guy can't be serious.

They had no problem pushing out a second update days/weeks after a working update with no complaints that broke their phone.
They know the update is broken and causes problems and they knowingly left it on their update servers to push out broken update on brand new phones?
The logic?

My case has also been open over 40 days now without any resolution or date of a fix to our issue. That's not customer service that's trying to keep and issue open until your warranty expired and they can tell you to screw off.

If you got the phone under contract I suggest you go back and tell them as they might give you a full refund/a working phone since Raser doesn't produce operational phones.

Ooh a conspiracy theorist. I am so sure they issued the update knowing it would break the Bluetooth. That's a bunch of BS.

I feel so sorry for people who just think everyone is out to get them. Here is a tissue to dry your eyes.

The update came out almost 2 months ago.

I received a new Razer phone a couple of days ago.
Upon starting up and informed me I NEEDED to update to the current version before it would release me to use the phone at all.

The update should of been revoked and stopped being handed out once they knew there were wide spread issues with it until a working fix was produced.

Can you not read?

The security update is more important.

And I'm pretty sure I said this before, if you don't like it, go somewhere else. This is their first phone and you expect them to function like companies who have been doing this a heck of a lot longer.

Do us a favor and next time you open your mouth have something of value to add besides being a worthless fanboy with nothing but good things to say and avoiding the actual problem\\resolution.
I was the only one trying to fix the problem.
All you've done is complain.
I've provided suggestions, and what have you done other than demand someone owes you something?

Sounds like you could use a fresh diaper.

If you could stop being a failing troll and fanboy you could actually read my posts\\threads where we have exchanged information and troubleshooting steps.

I bet you don't even have a Razer phone and you are only here to post crap on Razer's half vs contribute to the community.
In fact you haven't said a single useful thing in anything you have posted so far for anyone except yourself.
Haha you're hilarious.
Trolls whine and cry and insult people on forums.
I've done none of that. You have.
And I have informed people to contact support and get a ticket started so they can be aware of what the issue is and get enough tickets to where they will do something about it. I even tried to get a group ticket put in to fix this issue.

Keep trying, I'm here all night.
So still no fix then ?? also see the other thread about Bluetooth got deleted. Maybe they will have better luck when the Razer 2 comes out.
People need to calm down a bit it's only a phone and the problem will get fixed eventually.
It's not the biggest problem ever, it's Bluetooth that's ir. It is just slightly annoying.
The phone itself is actually pretty decent if you don't like it then that is a matter of personal opinion and there are plenty of other phones out there.
Rather than being keyboard warriors just refrain from posting irrelevant comments to eachother it's a waste of time for you guys and for us reading.
Hold tight the update to fix will come I am sure.
I did like the phone for the most part, but as I drive for a living and change vehicles a few times a day and am in and out of the cab all the time the Bluetooth issue was more than slightly annoying. Also after raising the problem with the support team who to be fair were all pleasant the fixes they came up with where usually repeated i.e. soft reset , hard reset, clear the Bluetooth cache (which considering I had just done a factory reset I didn't see the point in .) then developer mode then hard reset then it got escalated and start again.

I got my provider to swap the razer phone for a samsung but am keeping a watch just to see how long it takes them to sort it.

No its not the biggest problem ever but if you buy a product with this functionality and then its removed, it then becomes a big problem, more so if as others say, they need bluetooth auto connection to activate. It then becomes an even bigger issue if the manufacturer refuses to provide customer service and cant provide an ETA for a fix. The it becomes a super big issue when I make a complaint to Razer and they dont even reply to their emails.

The device is a good phone but I want more than a phone. I want the device I was sold, which included bluetooth auto connnect and controls.

Razer - I'm so disappointed in your product, help centre and customer service. I have asked for info on how to make a formal complaint but your support team ignore my emails. I have posted on your facebook page but still nothing. This is not doing your business any good...............
Anyone heard anything more about this?

I keep getting the "not heard from you so we're going to close your ticket" emails, which I keep replying to saying it is not resolved but I've not heard anything about a time line for a fix to be released.
I was given the fix listed on this thread earlier, but it didn't help my situation any. so now im just patiently waiting/hoping they put out a patch to fix this. funnily enough I found a pair of Razer BT hammerheads on clearance a week ago. and they of course work perfectly with the phone.
It ought to be about time for the next update, right? The longest gap between updates, so far, has been less than three months.
I'm sitting here watching the Walking Dead while reading this, and just started thinking about how everyone in this thread so far would most definitely be a zombie! Back in my time, they didn't even have the Blue Tooth. They didn't have the Face Chat or Snapbook neither, and we survived just fine. :smile_::smile_:

No but I was just thinking about how these are some serious first world problems we are having here I'm not entirely sure why people are arguing with each other so much through this forum. It's not getting it fixed any faster...

Regardless, I'm working on downgrading my Razer phone back to 7.1.1 and I'll report back on if it fixed the problem for me. May not be the most perfect solution, but for now I'm willing to give it a shot. Being in outside sales and having to re-pair everything is kind of a hassle. Still though, beats having an iPhone or Samsung.
