Hello Insiders, I posted a bunch of high resolution photos in this thread with a lot of close ups of my new Razer Blade and Razer Core: https://forum.strats.co/t/2017-razer-blade-high-resolution-macro-photos-of-unboxing/12378?u=vocino

What immediately struck me when I first saw the Blade line was the build quality. It's so hard to find a PC laptop that takes design and build quality seriously. As a long-time MacBook Pro user, I've been spoiled by simple things like unibody non-plastic chassis, minimalist design, nice trackpads, great displays, etc.

It's so wonderful to see a company taking these things seriously on the PC side.

Check out all the photos on the Strats.co thread.

    Enjoy!

Great! I always wondered how the packaging on a blade would look :) Knowing Razer it is as I expected :D
Looks like a sturdy design and good build quality indeed! Hope you are happy with it!

How well does the Razer Blade 14 pair with the Razer Core and a GPU.

It pairs fine, though it's a bit of overkill since the Blade already has a 1060. I have an ASUS 1080 STRIX in the Core.

any noticable differences of using the 1080 over the 1060 via thunderbolt??? I have the Kaby-1060 Blade aswell. Altho, I use it for gaming/vr/content creation.

The biggest thing I've noticed is heat. Moving that heat generation to the core is a pretty significant benefit. I can crank up some higher performing games like Wildlands and Andromeda to Ultra, where I couldn't reliably on the 1060. On "Very High" type settings with the 1060, the heat was pushing it.

I think that the CORE is meant for the 14" Blade over the stealth, those 4 cores come in handy I bet.

For sure. I was originally on the fence as to whether to go Blade or Stealth. In the end, I thought I would be feeling CPU envy with the Stealth and with that a monster GPU in the Core wouldn't be as beneficial.

If you're going to put say, a 1060 in the Core and go with the Stealth, I think you can have a reasonable setup at lower cost (although still steep compared to what it would cost to build the same in a desktop).
