    <tl;dr>
The prototype of a clock/system-widget for the chroma devices.
    </tl;dr>

    Hey Guys,
a friend of mine came to me last week and asked for a little clock-application for his Blackwidow Chroma X. I know, that there were some examples in the past, but they weren't exactly what my friend needed. The "Chroma" was missing. So I sat down and started to program with the SDK.
It is my first work with the SDK btw.
It's still just a little app, but i would like to share my progress with you.

    Keyboard:

    AM/PM:
Esc-Key lights up in different colors(one for am, one for pm). Both colors can be chosen.

    Hours:
F1-F12. Each key, one hour. Color can be chosen.

    Minutes:
It was kinda different to pick a way to display the minutes.
For now i decided to go for different colors, but both are displayed on the number keys.
    e.g. 3 and 4 are glowing. possible minutes: 34 or 43.
The user can choose the color of both. So he/she can decide which way they light up.

    Seconds:

The Seconds are displayed as a hand on the numpad. It's pretty accurate, but nothing you should use to measure time. And again, the color can be chosen by the user.

    Background:

For now it's just a one color background(color can be chosen as well).
It's planned later on, that you can choose a profile or customize your own.

    Mouse Mat:

    Background:
You can choose between a special color or sync it with the other Chroma Devices.

    Time:
Atm it can display the seconds. It's planned that you can choose between the time and other applications like a timer.

    GUI:

The GUI is separated into the Chroma Configurator and the Systemtray Icon.

    Chroma Configurator:
Atm the Configurator is more functional than beautiful, but it remember your choices the next time you start it up and the colors can be changed in real time.
The user can choose out of 11 predefined colors for each object.
The Mouse Mat can activated separately, so Users without one don't miss any features.
Full 16.8 million Chroma support is implemented, but not in the ui yet.
(If you know how RGB works, you can edit the save file and get the 16.8 million colors)
    [IMG] [IMG]

    Systemtray Icon:

The Systemtray Icon allows you to start and stop the Clockeffect.
You are able to open the Configurator and visit the official webpage to check for updates.

    TODO:
    - Timer/Stopwatch working with the Numpad-Clock/Mouse Mat
    - Full Background Customization
    - Full 16.8 million color support in the GUI
    - Support for all Chroma devices
    - CPU/Memory Usage
    - Different Profiles

    Download:
    coming soon.

    Thank you for reading.
It means a lot to me, that you are interested in my little project.

    Sincerely,
    Vay

    Pretty good!

Although I'd rather just look at my taskbar, other may prefer to have the time delivered to them in a more colorful fashion.

As a future suggestion to make those of us who would rather glance at the taskbar use this app, try and incorporate more features to make this an everyday app.

Such as percent CPU usage, free RAM, temps, phone notifications, etc.
    (Perhaps have them as modules?)

@REDFOX I'm still debugging. I don't want you to mess around with an incomplete app.

@Lafar Thank you, i'm pleased that you are honest. Your ideas are awesome, I will try to implement some of them.

Dude this looks like it has a lot of potential to be something epic, keep up the good work

I've got to say, that's some impressive handywork. 100/10 would download even though I don't own a blackwidow chroma

@Rainbow dash I hope so, I will continue my work and maybe it will be something "epic" ;)

@BeyondTheVortex Haha, thx dude. Chroma Support for other devices is planned aswell. So maybe you won't need a Blavkwidow Chroma to use it ;)

Good job man, this is really awesome! In all honesty i can't say I'd use it too much since the convenience of glancing at my Taskbar is a lot simpler and fast but this definitely has potential.

If there were things I could change about this it would be:

Removing the "seconds" and using the num-pad for the minutes. That way the standard number led's would be free while playing a game.

If there was anything I could add:

If this is even possible, if you could implement a stopwatch and alarm feature then that would be amazing and I would most - likely start using this app.

The reason I say that is because I how when i use a stopwatch / alarm on windows it takes up a part of my screen, this app would eliminate that issue. (I know i can use my phone but sometimes its more convenient to quickly do something on my computer)

    Once again, great app man!

Also how long did this roughly take you to make?
    :)

@ImGummeh I'm grateful that you are honest as well. It's planned that you can customize the whole optical look. So you could enable/disable the seconds, you could set the minutes to the numpad, etc. A stopwatch is planned as well, I just called it "Timer" in the TODO list. I will change that so no one is confused.
Once again, I'm really thankful that you took the time to share your thoughts with me.

Roughly programming ? I started Friday evening and the first working build was yesterday. But a lot of these three days went for understanding the SDK, and the possibilities it offers.

Goddamnit guys, these threads are unnecessary, just remember: EVERYTHING is better with chroma. So yes. Glue LEDs to your burger and sell it for a ton of money, I'd buy one.

@Silas18301 You know that the chroma aspect was a little joke at the beginning and the main thread is about the idea of a customizable clock application ? So your comment is kinda pointless here.

This is a brilliant idea! I would use it as, but if you do manage to add the timer/stopwatch then all the better!

@ttouchdown77 the timer/stopwatch-feature should be in the first downloadable build :)
