Blade 2016 Preorder Shipment Delay

    This new delay is a major disappointment in a long string of disappointments from Razer. This will be my first and last experience with them. Constant shipping delays on a product of this price is a sure fire way to lose a customer forever. I partially blame myself for taking a chance and ordering a product that wasn't out yet, plus I've been concerned about the potential technical issues that always pop up in a newly released product. Combined with the horror stories I hear about Razer's customer service I feel like I should have known better.

    I love the idea of the Blade, I'm a motion designer/animator and it met every spec I had in purchasing a new laptop. But there are alternatives out there that are available now from MSI and Arous.

    However, after I cancel my order I think I'm going to head over to my local Best Buy and pick up a Dell XPS 15. I can have a brand new one in my hands in an hour. Plus with Best Buy I can get 3 years of complete protection from everything, even accidental drops. I just take it down the street and they take care of it. No shipping it back to Razer for 6 weeks.

    I had seriously considered it before but the 970 in the Blade won me over. But having a 960 in a computer I can use wins out over a 970 in a computer that is currently a fantasy.

    I mean, read how vague the new email we all received is,

    "We now expect to be able to ship your product approximately May 18th"

    Seriously? Why not just say, "We kinda sorta think we might be able to ship it around or about May 18th give or take a few weeks or months. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Bad form Razer. Bad form.

    Anyone have any thoughts on the XPS 15?

    I am currently on hold with the phone support for an update. Apparently the 100$ core credit was not supposed to work on anything else but I was able to order a mercanary backpack and Naga Chroma with a$100 discount. Anyone else try this? the code is listed in the order summary email.

    Knowing Razer, we probably won't even get an explanation for another couple weeks or so.

    That suggests some of them will ship on March 31st.

    Be warned I tried that this morning. They didn't have the xps. Neither 13 or 15. So you'd have to order. Unless your best buy is cooler than mine. Haha

  8. I just got off the phone with Razer support and they told the delay is because there are too many orders and they're having trouble sorting it out.. Which I believe is the dumbest reason of all time

    EDIT: I did ask if I could receive my Division code early. He said he'll see what he can do and made a case for me

    Is also love to hear your opinions on the XPS. How does the 960 fare?

    Customer support says they believe it to be a shipping/manufacturing problem and does not believe it to be hardware related. They also report that I should not have been able to use the Core credit on other products but its cool that I did. Im going to cancel at this point, there are other options and to be perfectly honest, Im impatient.

    It's pretty substantial unfortunately... But Should be able to play games on medium if you set it to 1080. But again. Thunderbolt compatible. So you could always get the core. And I'm sure other companies are going to be releasing their own egpu

  15. Exactly. I asked why is it so hard to sort who ordered when.. Obviously those who ordered on the 15th and 16th should be getting it first. (I knew he wouldn't know the answer, just out of frustration). He said he's gonna send this question to the shipping team and they'll email me within 1-2 business days

    I'm landing back in the states on the 9th depending on how I feel then I'll order the xps 15 or wait for the 18th. I looked at the hp specter. I didn't care for the keys and touchpad. Otherwise the case looks nice. Also considered the yoga 900. Love the hinge design. Just too small for my taste. Also I don't know if they have m.2 pci ssd or just regular sata ssd. Both have USB C. The yoga is not thunderbolt capable from what I've read.

    Cancelled Razer this morning. Ordered xps15. It is arriving tomorrow morning.

    I just checked and two of my local BestBuys have the model I want in stock. But we have a lot of BBs in the metro area.

    Microsoft store. I also get student discount.

    I have a Alienware desktop. It had video card and motherboard problem. Dell sent a technician to my door step the the very next day I called them. And he replaced my video card and motherboard.

    Now think about it. I must be brain farting when I decided to skip xps to go for Blade. Well thanks Razer for correct my mistake.
