    This is pretty huge news!

We discussed in a past Thread of the Week, Horizon: Zero Dawn coming to PC and the potential for other platform exclusive titles to go multi-platform.

Polygon has reported that Epic is set to publish new games from genDesign, Playdead and Remedy Entertainment. genDesign is responsible for games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian, beautiful games that have remained Playstation exclusives. The deal is made for new games to be released, but it may open up the possibilities that we'll see these older titles on PC.

The deal also sets in place the groundwork for more developers to publish their games on PC through their "developer-first approach." Epic has been controversial and disruptive in the game publishing space with its exclusive takeovers and overly simplistic game store, but at the same time has been giving developers a better deal by offering more incentives and bigger profits than Steam.

Ultimately, this means better things for us the gamers and quite possibly better for the industry as a whole.

It's definitely pretty interesting. At first I was a bit skeptical of cross-platform play but with recent games like Warzone that are auto-matching console and PC players together in matches, it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. My only fear is that it could cannibalize the console market or even over saturate multiplayer games because there's so many more people playing at once. I love gaming on consoles, the PS ecosystem is pretty awesome and I'd hate to see it go away. I also love gaming on the PC too, so it's pretty cool to see some of these games come to this platform as well. It's definitely good for devs and gamers because we get to choose what platform we prefer.

It's going to be interesting to see how this changes the industry.
