Any tips for stimulating growth of facial hair?
Also, is it impossible for asians?

Naturally I've heard it is not very likely for asians to grow full-size beards. However you can look into special oils that you rub onto your face that promote growth.

Well I wasn't imagining a thread on this subject here lol but there's not much you can do. It's all genetics and yes, some races don't have much or any. There are vitamins like Biotin that make hair grow faster/more healthy but it won't increase the amount of hairs. It's in any Hair, Skin and Nails supplements at drug stores.

Not really. Its down to genetics. I couldnt grow a beard until i was 22/23. Even now its patchy and sparse around the sides of my jaw and neck. So i cant grow a full thick beard.

I'm only 1/2 Asian, so you'd think that at least 1/2 of me would be able to grow a full beard, but alas, no such luck. My dad's brothers (100% Filipino) did have facial hair when I was growing up, as did my dad: oldest uncle had his version of a beard, but it was a thin, wispy thing; youngest uncle had a somewhat long mustache, but it looked like something out of a kung-fu movie; and my dad at times had a somewhat thick mustache.

I'm 40, and can't grow facial hair to save my life. Even with two weeks off work and no shaving, I still only have stubble. Is that because of my Asian heritage? Maybe.

As far as beard growth, the only thing I can think of is what Santa said in "Miracle on 34th Street": cold air stimulates growth. I have no idea if that's true, though. ;)

It's all about them dominant and recessive genotypes.
This is as far as I go because taking biology fried my thought process.

I dont want to go back to the dark everlasting hole of biology tests again...:slightly_sad:

I can't grow a beard, but I can grow a Fu Manchu. It is impossible for a chinese person like me to do it. This is also like chest hair which few asians have.

    lol :smile_:

It's all genetics. I know some foods can slow down the beard's speed growth. You need to avoid mint and soy but i don't know if it block the beard's growth or only slow down the beard's speed growth.

I'm sure there's some hair growth creams but who knows if they have side effects or not.

perfect place to ask this kind of question
  13. Beard Oil, and beard shampoo and getting a proper cut throat shave will stimulate the hair follicles ;)

If you use an abrasion like sandpaper to increase circulation to the chin (i.e. rub It really hard with the sandpaper) that might help.

I can't tell if this is trolling or serious advice.:confused_: I suppose if you want to look like you crashed your motorcycle and slid down the road on your face this would be great. Mmmmm road rash.

Its a hypothesis. My friend got a brushburn, and he has more hair on his chest where it happened.

First off, asians does not mean chinese. I am Indian, India lies in Asia, hence I am an asian. I can grow a full beard in like 3 weeks. Most of my friends have beards too. Some people say that once you start growing the soft beard hair, you need to trim/ use razor on it so that it comes harder the next time.

This is a fun thread. Indians can easily grow a full beard compared to Chinese. Facial hair is a genetic thing and it comes with the race. best to be proud of what you have :)

Had a beard before but GF doesn't like it so it needs to go haha

I'm from the Philippines, and I cannot grow facial hair. However, I had friends in high school that had facial hair at 15. They were rare, though.

The country is somewhat of a melting pot, so I'm sure there was international influence there.

And its not entirely to do with race. Im as white as you get and my beard is pretty sparse.
