regarding the games I think razer should have stayed with the previous cortex model. the new model only has 5 games which means if u don't have those games u have to buy them which also means that if every month cortex has games u don't have, u have to buy them in order to earn zSilver. say I have a razer headset and someone recommends a different one id look at them like they are 'out of their minds' because I like wait love my razer one therefore the same thing with these games the new system is like pushing people to play games they don't like just to earn, therefore the only two choices left are to play them or just continue playing the titles they already own and love and vote for their titles to see them in the next month's line up.

I'm can't afford razer's keyboards and i like them very much and this program is a lifesaver! i'm so close to take my first razer keyboard but if you close the program to the outsider i will lose all my point and i will never be able to entere the razer community :'(

Then the concept of allowing users who do not have Razer gear like myself falls down in a water. Yes they are selling gear on ebay , but again "True Razer fans" can also do that, so that doesnt solve the problem. I think its much better if you somehow limit the accounts on Razer Cortex , like you cant redeem 2 items of the same kind (1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 headseat etc.). And also limit the number of accounts coming from same IP.

You could try to give discounts to people who already have Razer gear, so it gives incentive to keeping the gear and the people getting free stuff with the ZGold who doesn't have Razer gear has to pay the prices already set.

Okay, I've read through most of the posts here and skimmed the rest. I have a few comments to make.

First, I think the idea of rewarding people who are already Razer fans is a brilliant one! Granted, that's something that greatly benefits me, so why wouldn't I like it, right? However, I do also feel a kind of duty to look out for some of the other people and other kinds of fans that we can have.

One of the questions that comes to my mind is then "What about the people who own Razer stuff that isn't registered in Synapse?" You can spend a lot of money with Razer and not have a single item registered in Synapse. Items such as backpacks, keyboard bag, the ammo pack, sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, mouse mats other than the firefly, headset stand, the Leviathan and Leviathan Mini, mouse bungee, cell phone stand, items from the L33t pack, etc -- how would those fans be rewarded if none of their stuff is in Synapse?

The easiest answer to that would be to start including codes on EVERY single Razer product that allows you to register your items into Synapse, regardless of what it is. At the very least, into the warranty program. I've wished I could do that for a very long time. However, that still doesn't help people who have made prior purchases.

I also agree that there are some people who haven't had the opportunity to purchase a Razer item because they've not been able to afford it, so they've been working hard to earn zSilver so that they can make that first purchase. I can completely understand why those fans don't want to miss out on the program. Sadly, they are lumped into the group of non-Razer owning dirtbags who only want to abuse the system to sell stuff on e-bay because there's no way for Razer to tell the difference between the two. (sadly that latter category also mingles with the true fans and some of them do own a Razer item or two - doesn't make them any less greedy and it still negatively impacts the system)

No matter what Razer does there will always be people who just aren't happy and who complain. There will also be those who feel entitled and want to know why the system isn't the one that best suits them, without giving a thought to anyone else. If you ask me, those entitled people are exactly the people who deserve to be unhappy with the system. Because instead of being grateful for the opportunity to earn items with a loyalty / reward system they're more concerned with what they get out of it and how they can work the system to their best advantage. I have no sympathy for people who only think of themselves, especially in a community this large with a system that affects so many people from all over the world.

So, there's my two+ cents on the matter.

@Min-Liang Tan - Ultimately, you just need to do what YOU think is most fair and let the ungrateful ones complain. It's always those who are not content with what they have who choose to speak the loudest, but just remember they don't speak for everyone. :)

Regarding this, they promised that there would be a f2p game each month. This month, for example, DOTA2 is f2p. Discussing the "Only for current owners", I personally do not want this. Why? Because I'm greedy. All my stuff right now is cheap junk (really; I haven't paid over $40 for any piece), and this would exclude me. Unless it counted the surround software. I actually do own that. As to the detail of complaining, I must admit that I did ask if it was possible to get an orange switch blackwidow, but I don't think I was quite up to complaining. ("Hey, sorry to bother you, is this possible? Thanks", I do my best to be polite). I love this plan, since it gives people a chance to get free high quality hardware. I do see that it must be discouraging to start a plan to give loyal fans free hardware only to get complaints. If it does turn to hardware owners only, I plan on eventually stocking up (when I graduate and have money). Until then, my hopes are that it remains as it is.
TL;DR. I like it how it is.

This would be great for true Razer fans who actually use Razer products.

May I suggest that instead of banning non-Razer users totally, why not reward existing Razer users? For example, give a 10% or 20% increase in speed of earning zsilver and limit of zsilver. Say I have 3 Razer products registered in Synapse, that will give me a earning speed of 3.9 (=3*1.3) zsilver per min, up to a max of 1,170 (=900*1.3) per day.

This idea is merely in its infancy, but there can always be balancing carried out. Like reduce the earning speed and daily limit of non-Razer users, but increase significantly the same for existing Razer users.

Disclaimer: I do have 3 Razer products registered in Synapse, so this idea is for my benefit as well.

    Greedy people never get paid!

Anyway, to main point, if this is contribution to community, does it mean we could not so focus on marketing? Then this strategy will work! As you know high transparency means high chances haters rise.

And this is how I become a fans:
I am new from RAZER. I don't know all of these! But I purchased a RAZER BLACKWIDOW X Ultimate. I'm glad as it performance and design are overpowered! Through out using, I received a notification of granted access to Paid to Play. As a new fans I amazed because I realized RAZER care us after service and thus I become a hardcore fans! And spread the word (so do buy other products)! []~( ̄▽ ̄)~*

This is a path of new fans to become hardcore fans. As a fans we need to know that RAZER care us. And, if you are RAZER fans, don't show any member card except RAZER member card and said I want claim RAZER bla bla bla.... We don't need someone who is greedy. Please appreciate what is "free" already. Don't mess up when there is no turning back... ε(┬┬﹏┬┬)3

OK Just an Idea, members should be able to just nominate one game for paid to play. which could be changed on a monthly basis or maybe only 3 times a year. there are lots of ways to limit the ability to change game.
This could run along side your excising game plan.
and it would give members time to make a purchase.

    Also watch
    Kind Regards Brian

Possibly been mentioned, many pages of posts to check through.

The idea is not bad, but I agree with Min's original idea, to provide Razer gear to some of the not so lucky fans.
So, maybe also track Insider members, with high activity/post count, that can be included in the program? Or some other incentives to fans, who don't own a product yet.

I feel it is a bit too mean to cut them off completely.
Besides most Razer fans, who have Razer products, can probably afford to buy the products anyway :D

I couldn't afford a single Razer gear, it's too expensive here in my country but when Paid to Play was introduced. I was really happy because I thought this would be my chance to get a Razer gear, I've been grinding since day 1 non-stop and earned at least 135k zSilvers even though I knew that my country isn't qualified for claiming zSilver Rewards (Philippines). I never complained about it and in fact, I'm still grinding until now, hoping that one day I could get a single Razer product. I don't know if I'm qualified to be called a "True Razer Fan" but I'm against this idea because this means I wouldn't be able to redeem a Razer product in the future anymore. Believe it or not, I wouldn't sell the rewards if I ever get my hands on a single product. I hope there are still a people like me, who just wanted a Razer gear for ourselves and don't even think of selling it. Unfortunately, there are people who are making this hard for us.

Or you can buy Razer devices with Zgold and get discounts and zsilver back. That's why it was made.

That one cranked me up xD.

    And it is Pepe-chan hueuheuh.

Tbh, the current system seems fine to me, but they could add some minor benefits to existing razer users.

Seeing all of those Mug Holders up on Ebay honestly makes my blood boil a little. Particularly since I do have a full Razer set, and I spent so much time grinding to get one, and hit 100k right after the last of them were redeemed. But realistically speaking, I sincerely doubt that this discourage people from selling anything else.

Limit all only to the razer customer (I am one of them, I would have Razer underwear if it existed) seems strange. The original message, "give the ones that can't afford razer gear a way to get it", was cool, felt right.
I would love if there was some perk in have razer gear on gaining silver, or maybe limit to them some peculiar reward as the mug, maybe the kitty kraken or a toaster... ( :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: ) but thinking "you must have already Razer gear" saddens me, I could easly be one of them, i WAS one of them. Thay cannot buy that anyway, so it's not a loss, instead, the community will grow, and the cult expand, as it must be. Razer's better than this and has always proved it.

By the way, WoW is MMORPG, do you even see anywhere "singleplayer" tag? The game is also e-sport: link. GTA has stable community because its multiplayer aspect + mods support. Think twice before posting. ;)
