Hmm, because 1070 max q can’t do that on mostly nowaday AAA games, you need around full gtx 1080 for that.
I feel also that, older Blade back screen lid has nice line that made me to do this on non Razer laptop;)

The battery/MB issue was the second major issue with the RB. In year 1 the display had to be replaced due to dead pixels. If you search online you will find many issues with the Razer products. Razer does not stand behind its products! Quality is questionable especially for premium laptops. I do not think I will burn another cent on a Razer product. It is not worth it.

Has anyone seen a review of the new Blade with any test scores or battery life? Love to know about the SSDs they are using as well. Cheers.

To those who bought the gtx 1060 blades in the recent sales... Real world performance of 1060 vs 1070 Max-Q is not that much... But having said that I really prefer those thin bezels and 144Hz display...

Though this video is not done with the blades it will give you a rough idea of the benchmarks between the two GPUs:

At least yours was only battery and actually worked out of the box... I've gone through at least 3 replacement Blade Pros, 4+ RMAs and I still have never had a fully functional Blade Pro. I'm preparing to send it in for ANOTHER repair now. All I ever get is the "oh, sorry to hear that" and then getting a cold shoulder from the higher-ups I meet at conferences. I have written software with their SDKs, bought many many products, even collaborated with some of their teams. I love their stuff, but I too am starting to wear down on this...

I wanted a portable laptop I could take with me for all my software development and gaming while I travel. Instead, I basically got a 5k paperweight.

So honestly, I see where you are coming from, but also remember they are still a relatively new company and have been trying to cope with MAJOR growing pains over the years.

or are they a max regarding the MHz that are possible to use in this laptop?

if yes what would be the best Mhz possible to use?

With overclocking the Max Q you can get closer performance to a regular 1070. It will close the gap on games that rely on higher core clock.

I actually really like the detachable screen on the Surface Book. I am one of the minorities where the Pen and screen come in super handy when working in Adobe or just taking notes. It's not really a gaming thing those so I have kind of given up hope of Razer putting money into these displays for people like me. I just keep hoping Microsoft makes the Surface Book good enough to game without their lack luster wifi chip and port selection.

Sure, parts are expected to fail, but the lack of strategy and vision on how to deal with issue is just non-existent. Discontinuing support smells more like flawed designs and knowingly misleading the customers into buying almost defective hardware. Who would buy a $3,000 laptop knowing that it will likely fail in the first 2 yrs??

My case has been with 'the escalation team' for well over a month. Support does not seem to care about the case. I followed up on Twitter, Linkedin, etc. but they went radio silent.

    This laptop looks awesome

  18. Just to update everyone on the Best Buy pre-order situation. They removed the 2018 Blade from their website then added it back as the 1060 model. When I placed my order it showed as the 512GB 1070 model but they changed it to the 1060 so I cancelled. Currently BB doesn’t have the 1070 model for sale at all
