Is Overwatch as toxic as it's made out to be?

    Hi!

For a while I've been considering getting Overwatch, it looks like a cool game, but I'm worried that the community is very toxic and unpleasant. I don't want to be receiving unpleasant messages every match or insulted over game chat which I've heard is common as well as trolling and farming newbs.

    Thanks for any advice :D

Nah, it's fine. And super easy to mute people in chat and talk. Fun characters, fun gameplay, and when you get a good team, really fun to win.

Man from what I've seen, the OW community is one of the nicer ones out there. Obviously you'll run into some dickheads, but generally the community tends to be pretty nice. Tell your teammates when they do a good job, be nice to people, and you'll generally get the same back.

Stay out of QP if you communicate when playing comp then you should be fine.

I started playing Overwatch a few months ago and I found the community to be much more positive that what I expected. GGs from multiple people after tough losses on both sides.

Like an above poster said, you will find a toxic person from time to time, but my experience thus far has been positive.

And when you get a good game, with a good team...it's easy to see why OW is so popular. It's really fun and addictive.

Yea, it's fairly clean. Though the toxic people you do find are so over the top. Just when you do run into those toxic people, don't let them get to you.

In fact, I believe Blizzard will not tolerance offense or any negative comments anymore. All you have to do is to report that player and the Blizzard will review it and either ban that player from playing or give them a warning. I reported some toxic players and never heard from them again. So, you're good .

Be careful not to let people troll you. It can be pretty funny to do.
