First and foremost, this is NOT a PC vs Console debate.

I'm just curious since even though I game mostly on PC I prefer using the controller instead of keyboard and mouse whenever I can.
It just feels more comfortable and I don't have to memorize all the keyboard controls from each game.

What is your preference and why?

KB&M combo allways. There is so few games i would play on Controller that there`s no point for buying it for myself. And i have no problem remembering any controls, even if i add quite few macros to my keymaps. Does anybody really has probles with that?
Last time i thought about it was 16 years ago when i first time got Pegasus, i was like
"how do i know what button i press?"

I don`t feel that there is a need for Controllers these days. Game`s are designed for both, even if they are coming to PC from Consoles they work great with KB&M Darksiders - Console game works perfectly with KB&M or recent Shadow of Mordor, this game was designed for Consoles yet work perfectly and in my honest opinion twice as good on KB&M.

I saw somewhere in the web few weeks ago a post. Dude said that he prefer to play on Controller most games, "(...) especially Skyrim". Like, WHAT? If i had to spend few thousands hours in Skyrim on Controller using sticks i would rather hang myself.

Just the advantage technology these days give to KB&M is so huge and add to it that games even those designed for Consoles when they come to PC they work as good or even better.

I always use keyboard and mouse. It just seems to fit better, and there's more programmable keys, which gives way to a lot more playing styles.
    Keyboard + Mouse > Controller

Ah! But especially games like Darksiders for me are absolutely unplayable with KB&M. I love action, hack n' slash and platformers and I rarely play FPS games.

I can definitely agree that FPS and strategy games are best with keyboard and mouse, but games like Darksiders, Devil May Cry and Assassin's Creed I would definitely use a controller. The controller feels more comfortable and responsive in these cases. Heck, my entire 150+ hours on Skyrim have been played with the controller. I rarely play MMOs now because using the Keyboard and mouse is annoying.

Agree that games like Darksiders, God of War (console only i know), DMC, Street Fighter, Tekken are best played on Controller, last two i wouldn`t touch with KB&M. But once they are on PC they work pretty good, some better like DS or Shadow of Mordor, some worse like Dark Souls which was pretty much unplayable with KB&M.

It depends on the game...I play with both. For example, Alien: Isolation I play with mouse+keyboard but Tomb Raider I play with controller. Leagues of Legends you can't play with a controller ;) so I think you really need both today for PC players.

Definitely KB+M pretty much all the time. I have a friend that mentioned so many games are better with controllers so I picked up a xbox 360 controller a while back and I use it for very few games. Part of the reason KB+M is my go to is I play a lot of FPS on PC and want the accuracy of the mouse. Along with this, I play several games with no controller support and I grew up on Nintendo consoles and controllers which are pretty different from controllers you would use with a PC.

@_Oris_ Yeah, I totally forgot that I used a controller for a few things until you mentioned it. I have a Sabertooth here at my desk and I've used it to play DarkSouls and in The Crew beta.
