I need the opinion of you guys. I have seen a lot of good reviews for the Razer blade stealth on YouTube but I have also read on Reddit about people saying how Razer is not reliable.

I am looking for a laptop that is lightweight that can game as well. I wanted to get the blade stealth qhd and the core with it but after reading the reviews and problems people had that made me think about my decision again. And will a newer model of the blade stealth come out soon because I am not really in a rush for one.

The windows store is selling the blade for 200$ cheaper and I was really surprised by that. Thanks in advance for the help :)

I'd say why not , the windows store has good return policies, sure there seem to be many faulty units that came with the first shipment, but I think most of the problems should be fixed by now.
If you happen to get a bad unit just give it back and get another one

  3. I've tried it and I think it's meh..well if you need a small laptop to travel with, it can work. Razer has pretty good build quality and the Stealth works I suppose. It will definitely not be able to let you game hardcore but casually yeah. The keyboard isn't as good as the Blades. I would definitely order from Microsoft so you can test it out longer but also save money. Also I would definitely recommend the cheaper one, not the I think UHD version that is more expensive. You don't need the high res on a small laptop like that.

Do you think it can last me for the next four years? I plan to get the core and I play games like Dota,Csgo and overwatch. I live in Malaysia and they don't ship to me so I have a cousin in the us that can help me out. If there are any problems then it will be hard to have it fixed right.

For me I'll definitely wait for Stealth to launch in Malaysia. It's true that the wait has been too long but if you're going all the way to ship from U.S. to here it might not be cost-friendly since we need to include 8.875% U.S. Sales tax, shipping cost and import tax in Malaysia (I was quoted around RM5,788.60 at $1,199.00, depends on our exchange rate). Maybe the import tax can be relieved if your laptop is not sealed in the original box anymore? I'm not sure about this.
Still, in my opinion UHD drains too much battery and yes as @Veek said the screen is too small to make a difference from QHD. Also the warranty issue makes me hesitate to courier from U.S. too. Not sure about gaming, but with that 1.1mm key travel it might be hard to play games like CSGO or Overwatch but I think i should be fine after you get used to it.
Right now I'm seriously considering XPS 15 instead of Stealth. bigger screen, 1.3mm key travel (still quite shallow), i7 Quad Core, GTX960m 2GB (enough for most recent games), weighs 1.78kg, FHD non touch, 256GB SSD at RM6,999.00. Still looking for cheaper price than this but i think this is a great comparison over Stealth and I might buy a Core for XPS 15 in few years later after 960m is not enough for gaming anymore instead of waiting for both Core and Stealth to launch here and you definitely need a Core to play games.

I have a mechanical keyboard already so I plan to use that. I want something that can last me for at least 4 years. I wanna get the blade stealth because it's light and I can bring it around.

I think Stealth's quality is good enough for you to last around 4 years given that you can upgrade GPU using Core. If I'm getting XPS 15 I'll try it with Core in few years later. However soldered RAM could be an issue. I owned a Sony Vaio S now which already lasts 4 years and i started to see that 6GB RAM is not quite enough. I personally think that 1.78kg is quite light as my Sony weighs 1.71kg and it's just nice, but if you need lighter than that, then 1.3kg will make you feel your laptop lighter than a textbook.
Trust me I'm still struggling between these two products, Razer makes me too hard to let it go.:confused_:

I would not recommend the stealth. If you want an ultrabook, there are better options. The XPS 13 works with the core, has better performance, longer battery life, a better screen, etc.

Especially if you want it to last you 4 years I would not consider the Stealth. There have been lots of heat issues reported with fans/cpus failing.

In terms of that, XPS 13 is relatively expensive than RBS. The same spec with RBS (i7 6500u, 256GB, 8GB RAM) however FHD Display already costs us roughly $1,599 after tax in Malaysia. That's why I'm looking at XPS 15 instead.

The XPS 15 is compatible with the core right? Do you recommend me to buy the XPS 15 instead?

I won't say it will be 100% compatible but I've seen some positive results from website and other threads from this forum too. I've really been reading most reviews of RBS since January but the wait of launching in Malaysia is killing me. XPS 15 seems not a bad choice for me personally so i wouldn't have to wait for Core to game. I'm 80% leaning towards XPS 15 now, go check it out and tell me what you think too.:wink_:

By the way i just saw Razer Store is selling Razer Blade 2016 in SG, AU, JP, KR already. Really wonder what are they holding off.

@AzoRaJK but the XPS 15 is about 6.2k. The Razer blade stealth with core is just 5.6 and with more upgradability in the future. The RBS is worth more imo

Edit: the XPS might be 15" but the rbs to me looks better and with more portability.

I thought you're getting $1,199 UHD version from Microsoft?
    In my calculation:

    RBS:
    $999.00(System)+$399(Core w/ discount)=$1,398
    $1,398 x 1.08875 (U.S. Sales Tax)=$1,522.07
    $1,522.07+$91.74 (Shipping Fee)=$1,613.81
    $1,613.81 x RM4.00/$=$6,455.25
And that's where you haven't include Graphic Card, which may go up to RM2,000 for GTX970, RX480 @ $199

XPS 15 is at RM6,999.00 with GTX960m, and I can upgrade the graphic card in future with other TB3 eGPU perhaps with lower price at that time.

I'm just trying to value the two systems here but of course not persuading you not to buy RBS because after all buying a laptop is still very subjective to that particular person.

That's where my decision got shaken after watching this video. That screen thou.

Nah I'm all ears for suggestions. I'll take a look at the video once I'm home. I'll see some reviews for the XPS 15. I don't mind if the battery on the RBS is bad because I'm home most of the time anyways. If the RBS is available in retail in Malaysia then it's a sure buy for me but what worries me is the problems I might face if the machine is faulty

I'm in the same boat with you. I won't buy RBS unless i found someone that can help me out with the warranty. The video is comparing Blade 2016 with XPS 15 since it's more fair to compare with Blade rather than RBS.

By the way an off topic question, is there any chance that you know which store is more reliable at Lowyat Plaza? I saw someone posted a very attracting price in LYN for XPS 15 but not sure if I can trust that guy.

I brought mine few weeks ago, and only used for 3 days.

    Downside:
All three days, while I was just casually using it for a few minutes, the laptop get's really really hot, and then the screen freezes which causes, it to be shut down by force. It also can't run games well without the Razer core at good fps. The screen also has this pattern which can only be seen in special angles and lighting. (look at the attached picture, razer said it's just the way the screen was made).
The bezels are huge which make the laptop screen look tiny, you have to use it zoomed in at 150% which is the recommended, or else you need the screen on your face to see the words.
The keyboard back light doesn't light up the space button and the !@#$%^&*... things on the keys.
Fingerprints are everywhere! I have to clean my screen after every use.
Word, OneNote, ppt not responds a few times
    only 5 ports
Can't play snake on the keyboard (yet)

    Awesome things:
    Great Keyboard, really fun!
awesome sound (u also get surround sound pro)
great battery life, can last me a day on normal use.
    really light!
    very portable
really nice feeling on the touchpad
    great specs for the price!
I would recommend it, but not for playing games if u are not connected to the Core!

    Hope this helped!

Making a video soon on my review for this laptop! :)

There is a dell store at Lowyat and that's pretty trustable. The one that has Alienware laptops also. Lowyat has a few stores that will replace the parts and sell it to you at a cheaper price so just be careful.

Congrats to you, so in the end do you enjoy your RBS? I'm aware of the second function keyboard does not light up too but i guess I wont know how annoying it will be until i have a chance to test it out. Will look forward to your review soon!

Thanks! May I know the store's name? Is it called "Dell"? I'm really really afraid of that so I'll only buy if it's totally sealed.

Yeah it's just Dell. It's the one at the ground floor and its right at the entrance
