In which part I wanted to lightning power and I couldn't find it can you post a thumbnail?

  3. That's a solid score there up there with all the other 1060 notebooks
Nothing wrong with that blade, beats the new AW13

I'm pretty certain you can NOT turn this light off unfortunately.

Well, I just got back from the store with an MSI GT62VR. Microcenter had them on sale for $1399 and at that price I just HAD to give this one a shot. GTX 1070, 256GB + 1TB drives, 16GB of 2400mhz RAM. Quite the upgrade from my Blade for significantly less money. It's a 15.6" and slightly fatter and heavier than the Blade obviously.

I'm in the process of updating everything, uninstalling bloat and installing stuff to benchmark with, but I gotta say, this keyboard is fantastic. This thing is also built like a tank. We'll see which one I'll settle on, but I can pretty much already guarantee that I will be canceling my Alienware 13 R3 order since that one is still more than 2 weeks before it will even ship to me and at the price point between these 3, it will boil down to size & weight of the Razer vs. price & performance of the MSI.

    1) Good for you! Quite a monster you have there. My first MSI was a GT60 w/ 870m then 970m... Both really solid machines. Chunky? sure, but they are gaming focused, they wont disappoint.

    2) Alienware 13 more than 2 weeks? Ridiculous.

    Anyhow, enjoy.

Isn't there a checkbox on the screen where you change the keyboard lighting? Something like "logo light" or something?

Yep, was quoted 23-27 days when I placed the order a few days ago. Silly, but I wanted to give that one a shot. Now it really just boils down to which machine between these 2 I decide to keep. By the time the Alienware would get here my return policy on both of these would be up already.

Interesting. I do not have that option. Say's I'm running the latest version of Synapse too (v2.20).

Could you give your opinion on the "Quiet Mode" feature integrated into Razer Synapse?
I'm interested as I've had issues in the past with the fans of my 2015 Razer Blade randomly kicking into full gear in the middle of class without any demanding active processes.
    Thanks!

I tried this using your adjustments and was able to adjust the core voltage to +100. I used a core clock offset +150 and memory +400. Re-ran FireStrike and got an overall score of 9597 and graphics score of 11,788. I am thrilled that my max GPU temp in Afterburner showed 69 degrees w/ "cool mode" enabled in Synapse, so cooling seems great on this laptop.

One issue I have is Afterburner is always choppy. If I try and drag the Afterburner window it severely lags. Also when I'm on the main Afterburner screen the core clock, boost, memory, voltage all bounce from say 400mhz to 0 every second. It is always fluctuating back and forth from 0.

Last, I am unable to monitor the GPU voltage in the Afterburner monitoring settings / detachable monitoring window. Anyone else have these issues?

Can confirm. Just went to Best Buy and tried all the keyboards on laptops. Wasn't able to try the Blade keyboard, but the other keyboards paled in comparison except maybe the ASUS G752VT. Even the Alienware keyboard is quite a bit less tactile-feeling.

Coil whine though... Can anyone comment on this? The HP Spectre, MSI GE72 and GE62, MSI GS73VR, Surface Pro 4, and quite a few others had coil whine that was noticeable in-store. The XPS 13 and XPS 15 both sounded like they were sizzling bacon.

Also looked at an Alienware 17 R3 and man, the build quality was garbage. Screen flexed like crazy and maybe it was the matte finish, but the 4K screen looked super grainy and considerably less sharp than my 1080p GS73VR. Unless they have made a quantum leap forward in build quality, I wouldn't get one.

Can anyone comment on your experiences with coil whine on the Razer Blade? I have seen many reports of it, but it's hard to get a feel for the representative data.

No coil whine on mine at all. No high pitched fan noise either. Just a nice normal wooosh sound when gaming. I tried an MSI GS43VR and the CPU fan made a constant high pitch sound. I am so impressed by the Blade so far.

Nice! Always jealous of other people with laptops that don't have high pitched electronic noises, as my last 7-8 laptops have had it. I know it's a luck of the draw thing, but some laptops, like the XPS and Surface Pro 4, always seem to have it.

I mean, the fan noise while gaming is very far from quiet, as I'm sure you'd expect. It also isn't a deep / low sounding wooosh like larger fans make. It is a higher pitched noise because the fans are smaller, but it is nowhere near annoying or what I would call an annoying high pitched sound. If that makes sense. I knew going into it that this would not be a silent laptop given its size.

The laptop does get really hot while gaming (it is almost too hot to touch if you place your fingers at the top of the keyboard right by the venting) because of the small size and aluminum but the fans move a lot of air and it cools off quite quickly when done gaming. Cool to the touch after a few minutes.

It's dead silent unless you boot up a game or something, really neat.

Also, I don't have the option to turn off the outer logo in my Synapse either. What's going on here Razer?
