  1. This same thing happened to me and is ultimately why I returned mine. It would keep disconnecting and my keyboard and screen would dim and my game would stutter. It kept happening when my CPU was being stressed in a specific game.

The issue appears to be connecting an external monitor through the HDMI port. As soon as I connect it the fans start spinning more (most likely because the nvidia card starts being used)

    That blows...

Looking forward to @Firebat246 experience today, he mentioned he will be testing the machine...

Oh so when you are not using an external monitor the machine stays quiet? That is weird, on my work computer i have right now 2 external monitors + laptop screen and my GPU fans are quiet quiet.. I guess that is just the policy - y GPU is 45 degrees Celsius on 3 monitors ... no gaming, just work stuff browser etc...no video of course. What's your GPU temps with an external monitor?

39C GPU - 41C max CPU. It's also quite warm in the office at the moment so the temperatures can be even lower and the fans still work a bit. Maybe I got used with my previous laptop which kicked in the fans only when I was doing demanding stuff.

Temps are great. It must be the policy then. Is it like that noticeable? I mean, even at the office? Just put some Pantera on... I am sure it will also be greatly appreciated by your colleagues.

Well it's not disturbing, I just notice that if I put the laptop to sleep there's quite a difference as everything becomes silent. Anyway, not a huge deal.

I managed to read some of the posts here and some people appear to have problems with their AC adapters. I tested mine with three games and I didn't notice any battery drain or stuttering. I played Fallout 4 for about 3 hours without any issues (GPU got to max 81 if I remember right). Played Elder Scrolls online for about 3-4 hours (GPU ~78C). Star Citizen for about an hour (GPU ~80). All these games were played on max settings. I also used Afterburner with 150 - 200

I also had fan speed issues. Interestingly enough, (failing to) install the EC 4.0 update cleared them up for me, which makes me think it's just some bad state being stored that needs to get flushed somehow. I did eventually manage to install the 4.0 update and the fans still behave well, which is nice.

My AC adapter, on the other hand, has had issues with my battery as well. Randomly disconnects, won't be recognized if I unplug and plug it back in, etc. Seems like the adapter itself is faulty because the power LED in the brick will dim until I reseat it in the outlet. Also, my battery itself flakes out and says it's totally empty causing my computer to sleep itself while I'm using it. I'm hoping to exchange it tomorrow at the store, if they have any in stock, otherwise it's RMA heck for me :/
  8. You may have to replace a charger.
I just said wow because this exact problem happened to me before with 2015 blade.
I'm so sure that these guys did not improved the power brick since i noticed that my charger is korean version which was came with previous Blades which was sold before in korea.
Late 2016 version is not even released in korea yet and i guess it will not.
So what? They recycles remaining charger with new blades. And that's so ashame.

Hey Gil. Mere curiosity. I see you have been having many issues with your blades. What makes you stick to the RB rather than getting something else?

Decided to return my (2nd) Blade, haven't shipped it out yet though. White uniformity isn't great, battery life underwhelming, battery drain while gaming is not cool, and gimped CPU despite updated firmware also is not cool. Not worth $2400, not even close. There's still no perfect jack of all trades thin and light laptop for both work and play, in my opinion. I thought the Blade was it, but no.

Plan on sticking with my trusty ThinkPad ultraportable for work and just re-ordered an MSI GT62VR for everything else, for $1399 that has a non-neutered CPU and 1070 GPU, and the best cooling I've personally seen on a laptop. Battery life on the MSI isn't far off from the Blade, surprisingly, maybe an hour less. Saving myself $1000 in the process. Good luck guys, I'll still keep lurking to see what updates if any come through.

If someone could compile me a short list of what people are seeing with the EC4 update so I can look out for each issue while gaming. I saw some things with battery drain on machines.. with some being more than others... power adapter disconnecting etc. I just need a short list to refer to, and i will play some games for a couple hours/report any behavior I see today.

It might not be a bad idea to check and see what your before and after fps is for the games you play while you're at it. For some reason, and this is what ended up causing me to decide to return my blade, is that my fps dropped on gameplay after the update.

@Razer|Technokat @Razer|WolfPack is there any other fixes/patches on the works to address all the issues people are reporting after the update? was it a provisional patch?
  14. This thread has been very useful for me, thanks!

  15. I have picked up a lot of good stuff here so I'm glad Razer let it roll. Sorry to say but I posted numbers too low. I have some reservations now about firestrike with its 2.6% variance (stock, not OC) on the same HW and drivers. Will update tonight.
  16. Checking in for an update, did we patch something?
  17. Good design is most important to me when buy a thing.
Usually i used a MacBook Pro, however i was sick of use 2 PCs for gaming and work separately. Then i found out was RB.
Love its sleek design but i'm getting tired of troubles. Now i'm seriously considering move to AlienWare now.. :slightly_sad:

There is an announcement on page one of a "fix" which doesn't seem to be helping a lot raw performance wise, but some people stated they no longer need throttlestop for the stuttering ....

Finally, it seems that some people is getting better performance (better CPU scores on Firestrike) and some other people worse :S

At this point I am considering going back to a commodore 64... it worked great, never had to go into a forum to beg for help.

  19. Updating for comparison reasons. I will still use panel native settings day to day but apparently launching firestrike while on panel native settings drops the score. Heaven doesn't care. Maybe firestrike is sensitive to extra work that the CPU/530 has to do(?). Oddly enough, firestrike scores did not reflect the intermittent stutter back on the older 530 driver while overclocked. Go figure. Anyway, QHD laptop update:

    Avg Stock (still 375.95) at 1080 60hz in the 530 (max/min scores are +/- 0.5%)
    External: 9295 11101/9317/4181 (displayport)
    Internal: 9304 11088/9405/4187

Keeping the same settings for backward comparison, TS unneeded, OC untuned
    TSOC bumps scores +5.9% (max/min +/- 0.6%)
    TSOC best seen: 9915 11961/9370/4517

Another change which might have had an effect was to apply this tweak: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/processor-scheduling-in-windows-7-8

9915? Get outta town! Good for you. Just let me point out that I do not believe this is due to any CPU optimization (scheduling) and this is what worries me the most... Clearly the GPU can handle anything thats getting thrown at, but the pitcher is only using one arm.

Havibg used that stupid analogy, the difference between were the cpu shoukd be (9.5k) and where it ia is not significant...

I use my MSI on with a 9.6 score causeI set the cpu at 99 percent on balanced mode. I cant tell any difference between 9.6k and 9.75k stock gaming. BF1 runs just as well on DX12/Ultra, even if the clock only goes till 3.25k and it stays cool.

At this point, @Robert5 I am just wondering why the delta between systems cause should you cpu is not throttled, your machine is great on > 9.6k

Can you clarify your settings you used to get 9.9k?
