@Judge86 oh ok lol i thought you meant it has hindered the actual laptop when in standalone. Also i dont know if youve seen in the other thread, i notice someone state that if you change your wifi setting to 5Gh that you no longer have to disable either the wifi or the ethernet. Seems to be a resolution for others too after that tip was shared.

Only if you have 5ghz available. Not everyone does... I don't need to switch to 5ghz after changing the priority anyway. It was just a one time permanent change. I never disabled ethernet.

Im trying to absorb all the info i can so when i AM able to buy it, hopefully i will get it right and have no issues right from the get go. So i appreciate the info.

I see. So i guess in that case you'd have to manually switch from wifi to ethernet or vise versa? I guess I'd be ok with 5Gh then.

You can never have to much information. It's alot of money on the line, and you want a good experience with it. if you change the priority or switch to 5ghz wifi you really should not have to manually change anything.

Huh...Maybe all the issues are just due to anxious operator/ preparation error...
Still impatient about it going on sale, but this makes me feel a bit better about it.

Well again its my first so i have no experience on whether my Gpu is worthy or not. I splurged on a brand new white Asus Radeon R9 Nano. Seems like most went with Nvidia GTX cards.

I'm sure there are problems with software and such, after all it is brand new. I'm also sure there is alot involved with making a hotswap graphics card, I just have not personally come across anything yet.

I like it. I'm sure it's worthy.. Almost bought one myself until I heard about the release date for the gtx 1080

Either way, it gives me solace knowing that atleast somebody has had smooth sailing.

Yeah i bought this in beginning of march, rarring to go...before i had even heard about the 1080's. #newbproblems, but still i hope it works well. FPS Benchmarks in 4K and 2K that were advertised looked promising on the R9 Nano. Then again not sure where the benchmarks came from, seemed like AMD themselves. We shall see...

Seems like AMD worked closely with razer in creating this tech so you might very well have a better experience than me.. I think they both worked closely with razer, however there is more advertisement from AMD.

At the very least im thinking the white casing should reflect that chroma lighting well. I sure do enjoy Chroma lol

Mine went without a hitch. i just followed the instructions on Razers site and made sure all my drivers were up to date first. I am using the core with the Razer Blade 2016. I had a AMD R9 290x sitting around, so am using that for now. I have not had a single glitch.

I have even tried it on a Dell XPS 15, and got it working, but perforance was really bad. I think that is because the thunderbolt firmware is one version behind what is on the Razer. It must be missing some optimization tweaks. AMD's site says that for XConnect to work the thunderbolt firmware version needs to be v16 or later. The xps has v15.

Thanks for sharing your experience with an AMD card! As I suspected, since AMD was first out of the gate with Razer to advertise their "X-Connect", I think they may have more robust support than nVidia. Hopefully this is something nVidia can improve through driver updates.

How much do you think the prices of the 960, 970, and 980's will drop once the new series comes out? I'm on a budget and will most likely end up with one of the 900 models but I feel like I should hold off and wait for the 1000 series to come out. I feel like the prices will drop of the 900 series's and there's no point in ordering it until I can actually receive a core. ( sorry if I'm using incorrect terminology when referring to the GPU's, not very techy and I'm very tired :) )
