Light use is 5:30-6:30 hrs. Heavy is about 2:30-3:30ish hrs, maybe more sometimes. But since I don't game that much I'm not using a lot of battery juice when just 3D modeling or editing a scene. The fans rarely come on while doing heavy Unity3D work. I also undervolted the CPU using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility which helped with the battery and the fans. I can actually render on the machine without it sounding like a jet!

Wow, that's pretty impressive for a 4k gaming laptop. Except undervolte the cpu, any other tips to get such good battery life?

I also disable Turbo boost so when rendering the fans doesn't go crazy speeds. But I would use it if needed, it's always there! Maybe battery saver and 50% to 75% brightness but that's about it.

  6. Hi Guys,
I just got a new RB 14 2017 few days ago. Got the AUO screen, but I couldnt see/notice any issue with it so I'm keeping that. I just installed steam and CS GO but for some reason I'm getting only 30fps at FHD and high settings. I have disabled the game DVR thing in windows settings and tried ALT+TAB method (it jumps over 60 for a little while and then again gets settled at 30).
I know I should be able to get much more than 30 on CS GO so there must be some other issue. Do you guys know of anything else which might help ?

    Thanks

AUO is actually better than LG in term professional use, i heard, but a lot of defective panel made it being less popular than LG.
How about checking on Nvidia control panel if it really using gtx1060, it sounds to me like you’re using iGPU (hd630) from FPS you got. Even using wishper mode on high setting I think this game still could run above 60fps on Blade with 1060.

Sorry I'm late to this thread. @erelchris are you having trackpad issues? My trackpad stops working after my laptop goes to sleep and the only way to fix it is to restart the laptop.

Looking for trouble?;) Not not yet, here. I’m happy with 2.2 synapse, still heard issues so I’m still waiting even have Lancehead wireless that could be maxed with it.

I've had my Razer Blade since June and absolutely love it. I use it less for gaming and more for college. But the software I run for engineering really utilizes the all the aspects of my gaming laptop. Gotta admit it's nice being the envy of everybody in class

  13. I've tried connecting my rb blade 2017 to an external monitor 144Hz using usb-c to display port. I was able to get 2560x1440 resolution with 144Hz. However, the screen flickers every minute. Does anyone have same experience? I have latest drivers as well and thunderbolt 3 driver from the razer website.

hi guys, new to all the brand and forum, so forgive me if not the proper forum. I have the Microsoft Store RB 2017 FHD, and to my surprise I am getting quite choppy 1080p video playback inside Premiere while on battery. Besides setting powerplan to High Performance and Nvidia Settings so that Premiere uses GPU, is there anything else I should look into? I am playing simple iPhone shot 1080p, 60fps, and getting like 800 dropped frames in one minute of video. while plugged, a breeze and joy to use, but I was expecting at least decent playback (I don't have that many effects applied to the video, just simple rescale the video; and audio correction to enhance voice; could those simple effect being the culprit?

I don’t know if it really helps, in gaming FPS drops because battery save mode, you can unlock it in Nvidia experience setting from battery (30fps) to quality (60fps), maybe it would help also on premiere playback on battery.

thanks Joikansai. I am afraid I already did that. I hope I can borrow an xps 15 or somethin akin and test if maybe the type of video I am playing is extra taxing. but I must confess I was expecting out of the box 1080-level of performance.

just to report, that I think I found the trick. most likely obvious to everyone, but it seems the trick for smooth playback is to select High Performance under Battery, under the Intel Integrated Graphics Settings. I am getting basically zero dropped frames. The whole thing is a bit counterintuitive, as I pre-selected Premiere to use the dedicated GPU graphics, yet it is the settings of the integrated GPU which seems to affect playback.
anyhow, in case anyone runs into this thread.

Hey gang! long time no post....

I just uploaded a new video on where I show how to natively, from BIOS, modify the FANS behavior of the machine. 100% safe, no third party software needed, just same procedure as before to flash the new modded BIOS, change settings and BUM! better machine :)

    Be in touch! regards.
