  1. Listen buddy: You can't GAME on the Razer Stealth. You can't. You need to attach a Desktop GPU to it first, which means it will be a gaming machine only at home, albeit a super powerful one.

If you want to game on the go as well, then you have two choices:

    - Wait for the Razer Blade 2016 laptop, which will have both a mobile GPU for on the go gaming, and be compatible with the desktop GPU connection. OR:
    - Get the XPS 15 which looks phenomenal, and has a dedicated GPU for gaming on the go. It will also most likely support the desktop GPU connection.

Will that graphics amp work with any other laptop that has a thunderbolt port? or just razer products

  5. I really like the Idea of this laptop and I am thinking of trying to save up for it for college in 8 months. I think that it will compete heavily with other major computer brands (Mac, Surface, and alienware) Does anyone know if you can change out the hard drive if you want to, or are you stuck with the one you bought?

you might be able to change the ssd inside but this will void your warrantly.

Honestly, I don't understand this product. Razer is for gaming. They just make a $1000 laptop that can't game with out the core box. What's the point of this? If I am at home, i will use my desktop. If i want to game say on a train or on plane, i can't play because i can't bring the core with me.

so to all the smart tech people out there. do you know of a way this could be connected wirelessly?

  11. You don't have to be a smart tech person to know that you can't transmit this kind of data wirelessly. We're lucky to even have a wired connection. It's the first of its kind Thunderbolt external GPU.

  12. How do the Razer Core connect to the Leviathan?

I'm just dense so I'm not clear on how the Core connects to a display. Are the GPU display connections exposed on the back of the Core to allow connections to displays?

I am a little bit confuse by the combo Razer stealth plus core.
I love the core, core is a great things, I love the stealth that a great thing too.
but the combo isn`t working on the papper for me.

you buy the stealth with 4k screen. then you buy the core, you add a GTX980. due to the CPU you might meet a bottle neck, if not due to the USB-C (PCIe v3 is 15.75 GB/s (gigaBYTES) and Thunderbolt 3 is 40 Gbits. That's more than 3 times slower than the former) it might be the bottle neck.

So in order to use a GPU that Match the stealth CPU, you go to a GTX 965.
then no bottle neck, but that CPU plus GPU seems not high end enough to provide a good frame rate (not even speaking in ultra) to the 4k screen...

If the USB-C is not a bootle neck with the GTX 980, then a core with the next razer blade 14( better be compatible with the core...) will be the perfect combo for me and I will buy it as soon as available( even better if nvidia release pascal GPU meanwhile).

Stealth alone is a really great ultrabook.
stealth plus core in order to use a gtx 765, seems very expensive for me
blade 14 2016 + core with pascale gpu --> take my money!

I do really hope that I will have a good suprise and that stealth plus a 980 GTX will work with no pb. But the CPU is a concern for now and on the papper this CPU with a gtx 980 doesn t look good...

This was certainly a surprise to me. If someone told me that in 2016 Razer will release an ultrabook, I wouldn't have believe them. The Razer Blade Stealth by itself is already an amazing ultrabook in terms of value and bang for your bucks. With a starting price of $999 it is relatively cheap compared to other ultrabooks.

However the thing I'm most excited about is the Razer Core. This thing has huge potential. The Razer Core has a much better design than the Alienware Graphics Amplifier due to the fact that instead of a proprietary connection it is using usb-c and thunderbolt. Gaming on an ultrabook will finally be possible with close to the performance of a desktop.

On a side note I wonder when will Razer release the new Razer Blade and Razer Blade Pro.
