As a quick update - we're almost done with a community moderator program (and we've identified a couple of our loyal and well mannered Insiders to kick of the initiative). This should be ready in the next 1 - 2 weeks.

At the same time, we're trying to look into the rewards system, and as earlier communicated, translate this to a point system that puts emphasis on proper post contribution, likes on post, visits to Insider as well as even owning gear. It takes us a while cause we're looking at allocating a proper weightage. We'd want to avoid farming, as well as avoid reassigning/balancing these points. This should drop very soon as well. Keep a lookout for it.

Wow, I am honored you took my suggestion!

All I wanted when posting this thread is for Razer to get better and it looks like its getting there! Thanks for everyone's support on this thread!

Technically the credit goes to @Miya who made the suggestion first but lets leave who gets the credit part. I hope the rewards portion also gets fixed soon, these two will ensure that the forum remain clean and brings back the old fun-to-be-in Insider.

Is there any way to get a data dump on insiders without scraping the site? This could be a fun competition, á la kaggle.com :D

Yeah who made it doesn't really matter.
But I look forward to when Razer Insider wont be for support. But for those who are insiders and love Razer.

A lot of the trolls are really ticking me off because they are so stupid.

Again I look forward to a clean forum!

    I have 2 general suggestions.

    1. have a specified support forum where the posts wont show up in the main insider feed. This would let people post questions but it wouldn't clutter everything up.

    2. Allow community moderators to hide threads, disable posting privileges for 10 minutes, up to 3 times in 1 hour, delete user comments on threads, have mod reports on posts, etc be priority over user reports.

I am really interested to seeing where this goes and have high hopes for what the community can do with this!

For gamers moded by gamers :)

    FOR THE CULT!

Lol the rewards are well worth it from personal experience. But don't spam to get them... I started out really enthusiastic with getting to 120 posts as fast as I could. Now, I am just in it because of the community. And now that I am at almost 250 posts that shows it.

This is exactly what I recommended back when the rewards first came out. My second suggestion is as you rightly put, to put the power in the community to tidy up insider by giving a select few moderation powers.

Edit: Did not see @Razer|Technokat's post. Nice!

If you guys want a list of Troll threads i've seen:
    1. This one started off as an alright post. As you go through the various pages, you can notice people asking the exact same question again and again. https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/razer-insiders-rewards-free-headset.7425/
    2. I believe that i've mentioned this post before https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/razer-car-speakers.9161/
    3. The same guy who still seems post hungry https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/razer-smart-phones.9173/
    4. This https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/razer-gaming-chair.8384/
    5. And as far back as i can be bothered, this which seems to have no real point https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/all-headphone-series.9192/#post-169809

That would be great!!! Most useless/spam posts never get liked, which in turn would deter spammers. I think maybe it would be best to have a combination of the two, something like a minimum of 120 posts with a minimum of 30 likes (which is 1 like for every 4 posts). Basically I think the rewards for post count should have at least a quarter of those posts liked.

These are not troll threads, you have the wrong idea of troll threads if you think these ones are. They are just suggestion threads and those are entertained by the community and Razer because it gives an idea of what people want to see next.

I noticed a lot of people are getting a bit hostile/rude to those who ask for support.

If you come across a support thread please say something like this.

Sorry to hear your having issues, but this forum is not for support. We aren't tech experts and cant give you the same help as Razer's support team which you can find here -http://www.razersupport.com/
Also its against the forum's rules to post support threads. If you want to see for your self those rules can be found here or in the forum category "Community ReadMe".

Just be nice guys, a lot of these people are new and you don't want to scare them off.

  20. Likes toward rewards? Hmm, I'm not sure. I've seen plenty of good comments without any likes and a few bad comments like "omg rzr bb cool product" with several likes. I think the post count is a decent system, but maybe you should raise the required character count to say 30 characters for it to be counted. This will deter short one line/non complete sentence responses.
