I've been looking for a new headset for a few months now and have decided to get one from Razer (I've been a fan for a while) but cant decide which. I am open to suggestions but have a price range up to £100. I will mainly be playing CS:GO if that changes anything. I don't see the point of a chroma headset.

If alot of people say not to get a Razer headset i will consider it.

    Thank you.

Don't go with Adaro (They're not bad, just they are more for listening music). Kraken series has always been Razer's main gaming headset line. I would suggest getting a Kraken 7.1 Chroma. Digital mic, 7.1 emulation and sexy lightning. What more could you want?

@Cipher_ You clearly don't understand what headset means. Headset = Headphones + Mic

@Predator5 do they have that headset without chroma lighting? I would check myself but I'm having problems getting on their website.

Well they do... but it's discontinued, so I think you will have to buy it from a retailer.

Razer has a whole slew of non-Chroma Krakens.

    Here's a list:
    Razer Kraken (no mic)
Razer Kraken Pro (Here's the Neon series (The Neon series hasn't been updated to the 2012 version (I think)))
    Razer Kraken Pro 2012 (Old)
Razer Kraken Mobile (Similar to the Pro, except mic is in-line, not retractable)
Razer Kraken 7.1 Classic (Blue lighting, not Chroma)
Razer Kraken Forged Edition (no mic)
    Razer Kraken USB

None of the above Krakens have Chroma.

    Here are the analog ones:
Razer Kraken, Razer Kraken Pro (Neon + 2012 + Mobile included), Razer Kraken Forged Edition

    Here are the digital ones:
Razer Kraken 7.1 Classic, Razer Kraken USB

You may also want to check out the Razer Tiamat 2.2.

The Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma without Chroma lighting would be the Razer Kraken 7.1 Classic.
Predator5 is right, they did have one without Chroma lighting, but they merely replaced the one without Chroma with the one that did have Chroma.

You could always just go for Chroma and discover its hidden benefits along the way!

I got the Kraken 7.1 Chroma a couple of months ago, and I love it!

  13. Any Kraken headset will do, but if you want a little better sound quality get a Kraken 7.1. Since you don't want a chroma headset you could get the Classic 7.1 which is cheaper.

The Kraken 7.1 is really good. The mic is also better than the other Kraken headsets. I guess you could get the Chroma one if you're willing to spend the money just for the Chroma feature!

Just so you know my reason behind this is that you cannot see the chroma lighting and for £10 cheaper you get a 8GB memory stick and a headstand at about £50 for both.

for shooter games in my opinion the 7.1 really does sound awesome. sometimes kinda wierd when you hear someone coming to you from the back left without even looking. and the mic is fine for comms as i often game with my brother and his classic 7.1 mic sounds pretty crisp and clear as opposed to people reviewing online. so i'd say any of the kraken 7.1 will be a good choice.

    Haha that is true. I'm getting the 7.1 Classic because of that deal (;
