With a Razer battlestation thread created by the staff in play..

I thought I'd start a conversation on your Razer pc build! Either stocked when bought or an empty case with your custom build.

    Razer PC found here.

Soon I'm looking to buy the Razer Antec or Razer NZXT S340. It'll be an experimental build as it'll be my first computer build. Just to keep in mind, it'll be over the next 6 months or so, before I have all the parts I need. I have also thought about the Levono RE also to save me the build time and now at a good price!

What are your thoughts on either?
Do you have a Razer PC? Either built by you., custom built, or stocked?
Maybe one that you have planned out but are in the stages like myself?

I'd just like to hear your experience with what you will have or have now.
Is it everything you have expected from what you purchased? Maybe some pros and cons? or how it could have been a better experience for you as the user or for Razer/RE themed on their next project?

    Recommendations on the build?

I'll update later with the pc build I have in mind if I were to buy it all today. Since it'll be a while before its complete by buying piece by piece, the list will change from time to time.

    Let it begin..

Sounds nice man! This is my setup as if I were to buy it today. This will change when coffee lakes comes out and even the new gpu line up next year..

    Case : Razer Antec
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z270I Gaming LGA 1151 Intel Z270 Mini Itx
    Processor: Intel I7-7700k quad-core 4.2 ghz
CPU cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 LED turbo, dual 120 mm pwm fans w/ Arctic Silver Thermal Paste
    RAM: G. Skill Rip jaws V series 32 (2x16) GB DDR4 2400
    PS: EVGA Supernova 650 W 80 + Gold
Case Fans: Corsair 120 mm Levitation PWM magnetic fans
Primary HD: Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD
    Mechanical HD: 2TB WD Black HD 7200 6 gs/s 64 mb cache 3.5 inch
    GPU: EVGA 1080 TI FTW3 11 GB GDDR5X

This puts me right around 2250 for all this. I know I shot low on the Power Supply and more than likely move up the scale on that as well as the RAM lineup to a 2800 or even the 3000 series. All-in-all this is just somethings that seem to go together quite nicely at the moment.

So, you're going to be putting that all together by yourself for the very first time. I'd be to intimidated by that list to even try. Have any worries?

I won't be building it solo, I'll have a couple guys who are experienced with me. I'll actually be doing a lower end system about the same time for the little guy at the house and will be first of the two. So I'll be able to take a little bit of that experience into building mine. But yeah, I would never do it solo without someone knowledgeable around me, not even for the lower end system.

It's good not to go it alone your first time. Having help your first time around is definitely big.
That's great! You should involve him if he's able.
Ya, I'd be shakey doing it all alone. It's always good to have help if it's your first time. I hope you have success. Maybe you could post some pics of the finished product?

There should be a Razer HTPC case. If Razer's laptops are slim, then the desktops should be too.

For desktop or home PC I think Razer put priority on performance that’s why the smallest one is Aztec cube. With HTPC I think the performance and cooling wouldn’t as good as tower, and it’s more difficult to costumizing and also for chroma lightning, tower is better. It’s like Razer Core, there’s already smaller form factor but fit not all GPU and has no solid built like the core. Laptop are slim because as its name, Razer changed the prejudice about gaming laptop in the past (=bulky heavy) to its nature meaning.
  9. Similar situation actually, i recently bought the NZXT H440 case for my first PC build and it was extremely easy to work with. Lots of room inside and BEAUTIFUL outside. The matte black and green LED's are amazing. I got the H440 instead of the S340 just because of the added character on the front panel, but when i was comparing, there seemed to be quite a few people that prefer the S340 so it was a tough decision. I would definitely stand by the H440 if you're still considering it.

The reason I thought about the S340 (as mentioned in OP) is because of how cheap I see it for. It's around 100 bucks on ebay, and the Razer Antec was 200+

I'm a fan of the smaller/compact type setup. Its why I have the MSI Vortex in the living room! A lot of people says it looks like a coffee maker lol. Anyhow I agree with the character you say about the H440 tower but the mid tower is what I would shoot for just because of size if I were to go this direction.

Me too, that's why I bought that crappy alienware. I was going by looks and compactness. I didn't figure I was buying a piece of junk. I wish I could build my own like you're doing. To me that's a real skill.

It really is the ultimate case that a desktop can have it, but there is one aspect which i really hate for missing. As i like to collect games for myself, and i mean not steam codes or any other type of codes, i like to feel and see the disk game on my hand, to know that is here and nothing can happen with it. I wish they would make a cd rom somewhere in that green shielded case for i'm sure i'm not the only one still using disk games.

I feel the same way about mice. And I've got a ton of old console games in the attic somewhere. It's just a matter of digging it out.
  14. drive would of been good totally agree
  15. That's a good point. For me, being my first build, i liked the idea of it being bigger so that i would have more room inside to work with. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but i had more than enough room so you should be more than okay with the S340 also.
