I've been reading some misconceptions about Razer Gold and Razer Silver and I thought I'd clear it up.

Razer Gold is the world's leading virtual credit that can be used for paying for games. Razer Silver is a loyalty point system that can be used for redeeming for Razer hardware, games and much more.

The main way to earn Razer Silver is to spend Razer Gold. However, we wanted to find new, fun (and optional) ways for gamers to earn Razer Silver - including Paid to Play (where you rack up Razer Silver just by playing games on the PC and Mobile with Razer Cortex). We've also worked with third parties like Esports Mogul and GammaNow to allow you to earn more Razer Silver.

I've seen complaints about Esports Mogul that gamers who aren't into esports can't earn Razer Silver there. Also, I've seen accusations that GammaNow's Softminer is a rip off.

Those are all ADDITIONAL ways of earning Razer Silver - you don't need to participate in them if you don't like it. On top of that, I've seen people claiming that GammaNow's Softminer is a scam because some have "calculated" that if you mined for cryptocurrency directly, you would be able to claim for the Razer hardware faster etc. Well, all those "calculations" don't take into consideration that you're also earning Razer Silver for free in many other ways as well as while spending Razer Gold. Plus - it was never meant to be the main way to earn Razer Silver!

So in short - it's really up to you how you want to earn Razer Silver - if you like a certain way like Paid to Play - by all means. Or if you enjoy esports, Esports Mogul's a great way. But if you dislike any method, you don't need to participate!

With all the complainers this probably won't make it 6 months. If you don't like it move on.

Well - as long as the complaints don't escalate to death threats - but yes, if it escalates, we will shut the whole programme down.

It's definitely a loyalty program that required user to use/purchase something from Razer but certain people tried to take advantages of it for their own benefits. And yet threats towards Razer staff if it doesn't benefit them. Sad. :frown_:

Just want to say that I support this move from you (Razer).
I'm gonna skip Softminer, but I will stick to the Mogul. When I started with Mogul, I discovered the whole new world of eSports that I haven't met before (as a Dota 2 player, I was familiar with the professional scene there, but didn't know much about CSGO, Overwatch...).
It's nice that everyone can find some way to earn zSilver, which they find acceptable for them.

Are people really this entitled to the point where they would complain because the free stuff isn't catering towards them? People really need to learn to be grateful especially since nobody is ever obligated to give anyone anything for free.

The Razer Softminer is definitely not for me since I'm on a six year old laptop but it's not like I'm being scammed just because others are getting more free things than I am for participating in bonus activities. In a way, this can be compared to participating in extra credit for a class and missing out won't affect one's grade. I am just grateful that I am getting free things from Paid to Play and possible other methods. Thanks a lot for this promotion @mltan !

On a side note, it would be great if we could vote for which games would be featured in Paid to Play like it did before. I would really like to see Heroes of the Storm be featured since it was voted to be included for the February refresh until it was announced that the Paid to Play program would be cancelled. I'm really hoping that this would help encourage some players to play Heroes of the Storm amidst all the controversy surrounding Blizzard's treatment of the game.

560 days for 280 000 zSilver, after 365 days, you lost all of them, let's not talk about Electricity Bill.... Just.. why ? Just for you collect Cryptomency ? This is legit scary.

This is for real lying to customers, people will let this program running and don't know what they're doing, all they're doing is exploding their electricity Bill for not Worth Point before they expire after A YEAR. A year of work is huge, a year of high Bills it is too.

I'm disappointed, the goal of zSilver and Paid 2 Play system was to give Razer stuff for free, it was " Play the games sponsored and earn points and earn Razer Stuff " now it is " Pay your skins with zGold, buy games on our new shop or mine us cryptomency and try to earn enough point a year before they expire " ! You see the difference ?
I'm currently writing from a Razer Ornata Chroma, with a Razer Goliatheus Chroma next to it, which I'm really grateful toward Razer to let me able to earn those after years of work (Without destroying my electricity bills) earned both from zSilver currency, and I'm really sad they won't have a new friend any time soon, at least, not that " free ".

Please reconsider the way you used to think about zSilver, don't start being gentle and really nice and then turn into an Evil who after collected people hearts, will destroy them with an hammer.

You get 1000-1500 a day if you run it 24 hours, not 500 like you used. Also it would be your own fault if you didn't understand something before using it, not any companies. That's why you read and accept the Terms and Conditions. Why would anyone expect a top tier reward for putting in little to no time/effort/money? It's for when you're AFK so you won't even notice your electricity go up. Do you turn your PC on and off 5 times a day to save electricity so it's only on when you're using it? I know I don't...

I don't get it. It clearly says 'approximately 500 Razer Silver or more within a day'. So it's nothing strange if you earn something like @ARMOR_152 said.

Just to be clear, I am not using SoftMiner myself, but just like our CEO said - everyone should find a way to earn zSilver for themselves. If you ask me, it's awesome that Razer provides so many different ways to earn zSilver, even though it's not as high as with the former edition of P2P (this way it keeps AFK-ers away).

Approximately doesn't mean double or triple the amount said..

That's what it should be.. but it's not, for example, Paid 2 Play woukd be my way to go to, but 50 a day is not like 500 or " 1500 " a day. So not really everyone..

That's true, but I think the 'or more' part is interesting here. Like they left a possibility of earning even more than approximately 500 (I might be wrong, this is my understanding).
Imagine if it really was that the case. Some zSilver here, some there, and after a couple of months you have new gadget. And everyone like you gets a brand new gadget. The issue here is that people would farm items even more than past edition of P2P.
Now you have many ways of collecting zSilver in smaller increments (excluding voting on Mogul), while the main thing is Razer zGold. It's a part of change in Razer's P2P policy.

one would assume, people arent stupid and know what they're getting into when they start to crypto mine

by your logic .... when a car manufacturer sells a car to a consumer .... is it also lying .... that they dont tell the customer:

    -you're polluting the planet
-you can die in that car/kill others with that car
-gas is not included (assuming internal combustion engine), and in order to operate the car, the consumer has to fork the bill

You said exactly where's the problem, people don't know what is Cryptomining.
it's even said zSilvers aren't Cryptomency, but they don't say we mine for them, when it is obviously the case.

They don't know their PC will be at 100% usage on CPU and/or GPU, they don't know their Electricity Bills will definitely be the same number as any months. This is where it is wrong.

And that's why the new P2P policy is bad, because now, the reward is completely useless, 1500 a month ? You call that rewarding ?

The people who wants to give it a try to the zSilver idea, they don't have any choice now, P2P is not a thing anymore, daily login is not too, Voting on Mogul isn't too (Really hard to win just for not that rewarding rewards).
The only way we have now is Softmining, and we definitely know what's wrong with Cryptomining.

The FAQ covers everything, if people don't read it or understand it that's their fault.

They are still rewarding gamers, albeit at a much less generous rate than before. Many people are hating on Razer because they nerfed the amount of Razer Silver people can earn. What they fail to realize is that Razer don't owe you anything, they were very generous with Razer Silver before and they are allowed to remove it or nerf it however they please because it's free.

People need to stop living in the past when we can get 900 zSilver daily. I miss those days too but we need to acknowledge that the main source of Razer Silver now is from purchasing Razer Gold. Anything else is supplementary.

I'm starting to get the vibe that Menelwenn's "concerns" are mostly geared towards the earnings per day, and not so much a concern about peoples electricity bill

+1 on what iStinger said, 900 zsilver a day is gone people ... in the same way I can no longer buy gas for my car for $0.99/gal .... MOVE ON ... or dont drive a car/dont use zsilver

EVERYONE knows that nobody reads ToS, and for "" risks "" like this, it should be said clearly what's happening with a pop up on boot of the app, or a button who said clearly and in the front page what is happening to their PC and what is happening to their Electricity Bills, not ToS of 10 000 words.
