Hi, I'm just trying to see how many people are getting a defective laptop and how many getting a flawless one? because I see so many people are complaining about getting a defective unit (including me). I would like to know if there are actually people getting a unit with now flaws from the first time.

I would really appreciate you participating in this poll.

Well mine was flawless before it fell off the arm of my chair and chipped off some out the outside.

    I cri ereyteim.

But for me, I never did have any problems with my blade. (2016 v1 256gb). Battrey is good, screen is good, keyboard is good doesnt randomly shut off or anything, fans are good, speakers are good. I actually want to hear what problems that other peoplw had with their blades so I can check mine over again and see if I somehow missed an underlying problem.

Great to hear that someone got a flawless blade :)

I don't see any reason it would be locked. Usually threads that are asking for help with an issue get locked, but this is just an interesting poll :)

Still putting mine through it's paces. I've had a chance to install a few games, but haven't been able to really sit down and play them and see how it performs. I was trying to get EVGA Precision so I could monitor my temps and FPS. For whatever reason the steam version was not working and had to install the standalone version. Now I have it working. So far it seems like my Blade is running properly as I tested witcher 3 for about twenty minutes before going to bed. GPU ran around 80 C. And that was flat on my table. Gonna try with my laptop cooler and the results tomorrow when I have time to sit down with it for a gaming session.

I still have to install some other programs for AutoDesk projects and test that out too.

Fit and finish is perfect and no abnormal noises. Buzzing, clicking, or creaking.

And to be fair anyone that has a bad unit is gonna spend time talking on a forums letting people know they have bad units. Those with good ones will be too busy playing games and enjoying their laptop. :wink_:

Still curious to know how many people are having issues though.

The title kinda threw me off initially but nah he's not breaking any rules. I am kinda curious for the metrics myself. And as we have all discussed in other threads, the disgruntled minorty tends to be alot more vocal than the content majority, so it will be interesting to see the responses and if we can actually quantify that. As long as you all play nice everything should be fine :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not trying to be difficult...but there's a huge (yuge?) gulf between "flawless" and "defective". Mine isn't flawless, per se, but I haven't had any major problems.

Isn't that what "other" is for?

Sure, fair point. I didn't vote but certainly I would have selected "other".

I'm probably just cranky from people in my professional life boiling complex issues/questions down into binary solutions that aren't representative of reality. So....I guess I am being difficult. Sue me :mad_:

Got mine today and everything seems fine. Wireless transfers at 60-70 MB/s. Sound runs well in games and music. Fans actually sound good as well with no visible whine. Battery is going through a stress test at 20% brightness and dim settings on keyboard which so far has run me 2 hours and still going. I'm also still running some tests with high bitrate movies and games for tearing on my QHD+ screen but so far nothing. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Been setting mine up most of the evening but in all initial testing there appears to be no issues at all. And might I add that this is a damn fine looking laptop. Def an upgrade over the rMBP.

That's actually great that the majority getting good units. I just sent my defective unit to Razer and will receive a replacement one. Hopefully this one would be flawless :)

oh no, still having the framerate loss when plugged in? Super odd, certainly doesn't seem like a common issue though so hopefully it is just that one unit.

More importantly. How has your experience with service been? Mine is pretty awful and I am just trying to get someone to tell me if I'll get my laptop this year.

My 2016 version 1 has been running along without any issues. However, there are some games that don't let me leave native res. Very rare. However, if I had the Nvidia 1060 version, I wouldn't care because hitting 60 fps at 4k wouldn't be a problem...

what exactly is the issue you're having?

Yeah that was weird, probably a defective gpu.

Actually they are trying their best to help me. At first they told me that they could only ship the replacement unit to a US address, but I told them that I can only receive it at my AU address and they said they will ship it to me :)
I'm just hoping to get a flawless unit and enjoy it !

    The 1060 isn't made for 4K 60fps, you may try 4K 30fps!

That's not very good. From my experience I can say that Razer Australia customer service is actually good, it seems that they try their best to solve my problem which is awesome. I hope you get your laptop soon.

So I've been playing around with my Razer Blade 14 finally and have had some time to see if mine has any issues. So far the only thing I found that is off if the laptop goes into sleep mode on its own due to not being used for the specified amount of time and I try to wake it back up right away I get a black screen. But, the computer is still on. At that point I have to press the power button and this for some reason fixes it. Weird.

Oooooon a funny note some of you might find this funny, I hooked my razer to my living room projector to test out netflix and some games. For some reason it only outputted 720p on netflix ((I have a theory why that happened)) and then I decided to start a new file in Fallout 4. The Gpu was running 70-73 degrees so the 1060 was boosting very well between 1750-1800 mhz. This is alot higher than the witcher 3 for me that hits 80 in no time. Also the CPU never went above 55 degrees. After I was done for the night I decided to surf the web and noticed I was getting some hitching when watching videos. It now dawns on me that I was in powersave mode the whole time. I couldn't help but laugh since I was playing Fallout 4 for 3 hours and it never went below 60 fps on high presets at 1080p.

BTW why did razer not illuminate the functions of the keyboard? Whenever I try to adust the volume using the fn + F3 or F2 I can't see the icon. This is by far the worst thing I can say about the design choices on this laptop. It looks clean with chroma on, but why do that just to make it look nice?

    Need a hug? :smile_:

And I hear ya. Work can put anyone in a foul mood. But, ya have to try and leave it at work and just enjoy yourself once you're away from work. I can't help it sometimes myself and can be put in a bad mood because of work.
