I will be rooting for OG, but damn, Liquid is something else. I guess momentum might be a big factor. If OG can really click with Resolution, its going to be amazing The new EG has me worried a little in their recent matches
I've watched some games recently, and I must say that OG looks terrible at the moment. I know, that means nothing when compared to tournament like Major, but still doesn't look good. For the next major my guess is that the winner will be some Chinese team, like LGD or LGD.FY. They showed much in TI, so I think their chances are high. Although, I wouldn't mind that, my favorite team, Liquid wins
OG is actually skipping the first major. I'm EG fangay all the way so it doesn't really bother me, lol.
yeah saw that as well, might be best for them, get things together and workout the kinks. I'm interested to see how they fare in the Star League qualifier final with Secret, will say a lot about where they are at right now You impressed with EG so far? I'm kind of tired of seeing RTS Veno lol They've had some rough games recently as well
New Secret looks scary and from their recent games, they look real stable. They have secured spots on Starladder, ESL One and PGL. Apart from EU and NA teams, is there no love at all for SEA teams? I've been spotting quite a number of Nerco picks lol, anyone else feels the same way?
I feel love for Mushi and Iceiceice. I think they will do well in upcoming tournaments, at least in SEA region. Yes, I agree with you, there are a lots of Necro, Bloodseeker and Venomancer picks. Almost every game there is at least one of mentioned heroes. I can't wait for the new patch to arrive.
i am actually quite sad that the Majors system has been changed in such a fashion. there was something quite aspirational about how there would be 3 big "Majors" leading up to the International stamped with the names of the cities they were held in - kind of like a big battlefield with strategic points of conquest leading up to the one big titanic battle. i mean, i appreciate that the new system is meant to promote the organic growth of the Dota 2 competitive ecosystem, and to have a more transparent system of qualification for TI and it is definitely for the best....but it just doesnt feel the same :S saying that a team was the winner of the Boston Major or the Kiev Major sounds so much more grand (imo) than the winner of ESL One Hamburg. kinda dilutes the grandeur of the word Majors. it gets a little bit more poetic in the chinese language (for those who are interested) as OG were titled the 春秋霸主 or the Spring and Autumn Warlords by the chinese dota scene after their victories in the Spring and Fall Majors (Frankfurt, Manila, Boston) and only dropping the Winter Major (Shanghai) to Team Secret 2.0. This is in turn a historical allusion to a time of medieval chinese history called the Spring and Autumn Period where there were many great warlords fighting for dominance over many warring states, and where the balance of power was continually shifting. - sounds like Dota doesnt it but oh wells. i am a nostalgic man. and OG will go down in history as the only team to have completed a career Major Slam (winning the reaver, mystic staff and eaglehorn) across 2 seasons, but not TI. now its just a big series of 22 separate tournaments with qualifying points. i guess the romance is over
Secret looks good. EG is rusty, Liquid haven't played yet this year. Newbee looks the best so far in my opinion. Personally I am rooting for OG but they are still calibrating with Reso. Depending on the form of Liquid it would be either them or Newbee.
