    Took the plunge and updated OTA to MR1 then again OTA to MR2.

    However Samsung Evo plus 256GB is still showing as doubled in size with problems managing storage.
    Good news is that the sound problems with Fortnite and Lineage 2 are resolved.

    Using a Sandisk A1 256GB card as adoptive storage and all works. Looks like Razer not going to fix the issues with Samsung Evo plus cards.

    Hey all, I am still using version 7.1.1 on my Razer Phone, and it is running on January 5th, 2018 security patch. I remember hearing from some people commenting about the speaker volume being lowered with Oreo updates; can anyone check whether if this MR2 has done anything to the speaker?

    The first Oreo update came with quite a number of bugs, so I decided to wait for the next one. Unfortunately, MR1 came with the Bluetooth issue, and because I rely heavily on Bluetooth on a daily basis, I had to skip that one as well. Hopefully this update can fix all the previous issues caused by the updates.

    On a side note, recently my Razer Phone's volume-up button often mis-clicks multiple times (e.g., volume going up by 2 or 3 unit with one click) and that has never really happened before, I have been wondering whether if this issue is due to a software bug or due to a hardware issue... It's not a big concern by any means, but I'm curious about the condition other user's Razer Phone, would anyone be willing to share some insights?

    According to multiple sites, the MR2 addresses:

    Improved low light photography;
    Increased screen brightness;
    Fixed Bluetooth-to-auto connectivity;
    Addresses Timer/Alarm bug;
    Fixed T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling;
    August 17 Kernel update; and
    July 5 Security patch level

    I see... Since there is no observable speaker volume increase in this update, on top of many reports of a decrease in speaker volume on the forums, I will just assume that the decrease in volume is something Razer has done intentionally. The increase in brightness is definitely a nice touch as people have been complaining about that for quite sometime as well, though there is one comment in Droidlife that reports having displaying dimming issues that the user did not notice before. Hope this isn't due to the MR2.

    I have also recently noticed that the upper half of my Razer Phone screen has a colder tone to it, while the bottom half has a warmer tone. It is only observable when I turn the brightness up to at least 50% while being in a relatively dark environment, with a blank white background.

    As for the improvement in low light photography, is it only for the default Razer camera app or does it work for other third party camera apps as well? I am currently using an modded version of the Pixel camera, which is much faster and more reliable the default one. I don't have steady hands so I can only take blurry photos with the default Razer camera. :slightly_sad:

    Update 9/15/2018:
    I went to a nearby Microsoft Store to check whether if there is any difference before and after the update. Their device was not updated (on MR1) and a store staff allowed me to update the device so I could compare the differences. I was also able to compare my unit that is running on Android 7.1.1 with the updated display unit (both when running on MR1 and MR2).

    Based on my observation, the speaker volume did not increase after the MR2 update. I also could not tell whether if there is an increase in screen brightness, but the max brightness seemed slightly lower than my unit running on Android 7.1.1 before and after the MR2 update. The colour tone of the display unit also appeared to be warmer than mine, and I did make sure that Night Light settings was turned off on all Razer Phones. I tried to test the camera, but the display device is attached to an alarm so I could not bring it to a dark environment to see its improvement in low light. Under bright condition the camera had no observable difference.

    Needless to say, those observations are subjective, and is only based on myself, a few other customers, and a Microsoft Store staff.

    The timer/alarm bug unfortunately is still present on MR2. I'm not sure if they can fix it but the way around it is to not have alarm sounds all the way to max for the timer. As for alarms just pick a sound that isn't too high pitched should do the trick.

    That's definitely not true. Singapore were waiting MONTHS after for the previous update it was insane.

    Unfortunately though this is the issue with carriers having to greenlight updates. Unless you use Threes VoLTE I'd flash the unbranded firmware.
