It is actually not so "okay", but I have got once same as yours, make some updates like intel 530 update, and gtx1060 update, I think you will you can get higher score. Mine now qhd+one scored 9150 to 9200, got once 9299 but it was only one time. Don't so focused on firestrike, it changes every times. Just use it for your purposes or play some demanding game in 1080p in high or even Ultra, when you feels some lag, than its a problem;)

Also uninstall the killer network sweet and the nvidia geforce experience, it helps.

@wesley27, yep that is right....the hdmi is hardwired to the gtx1060, so an external monitor on that port will always use the gtx. The thunderbolt port on the other hand, is hardwired to the intel graphics, so if using thunderbolt (hdmi or display port) it will always use the integrated graphics. It is a Razer thing, kind of strange, but it seems like they opted for this setup because of the Core....if you want to run multiple displays using a discrete graphics you need the core.

I have tried the 3dmark firestrike test last night, even though it complained about having gsync enabled. Sure thing, in the first 2 tests, it was obvious the frames were cut at exactly 40.

I have tried since to change all settings I could see: global or per 3dmark app to have vsync off but it made no difference, still asked me to disable gsync.

I might try to reinstall an earlier version of the GeForce drivers, the one I currently have is 376.33, but if anyone knows of a different fix, please let me know. Thanks

Edit: I have reverted to version from razer support section and all is good again.

I get ~9990 constantly without overclock or uninstalling anything.. no tweaks...

  10. Whaaa??? Dang, I'm barely getting a 9920 with OC and thottlestop and GeForce uninstalled, you wouldn't mind letting us see a screenshot? Lucky...

Maybe not 9900, but certainly between 9.7-9.9k all the time. Now I am running on 3 monitors.
    Ah, I don't have a Blade, I have a GS63VR

Hi guys, it will be better if you don't based everything on firestrike score. Even my qhd+ couldn't get over 9300 without overclock, but in real performance experience like Mafia 3 (all high, nsync on, 1080p), I can get highest fps almost 60, the lowest was 43, which are better score than scores on notebookcheck.net (Asus with 1060, 41fps). On firestrike, i think they optimized somehow their system to it, as we can see also MSI advertisement during the benchmark.

I get around 9150 - 9300 on firestrike stock, whether I'm running on the laptops native screen or my 1080p 27" monitor. With a small overclock of around +160/+300 I get 9600-9750 and with a little more overclock of around +215/+425 I get around 9800.

I overclocked merely to benchmark, I don't plan on ever using it for real because the truth is we absolutely don't need it. At this point, we've realize there is some form of less power within the Blade's 1060, whether it's for cooling, because it's so thin, whatever, it hardly matters. It's minimal. A firestrike score of 9200 vs 9800 stock on the MSI? That's an extremely minimal difference when you actually play games, and aren't so caught up on a benchmark, which is designed to stretch your system to test it.

I can play anything demanding on the highest settings and not suffer at all, and my Blade doesn't get real hot either. That's all that matters, and at that point we're getting a minimal, invisible amount of fps less than say the GS63VR. If you care that much about it, a minimal safe overclock is all it takes to get that as well.

My point in saying all this? I'm extremely satisfied with the power in the Blade and after all this testing and figuring out we've done, I think that if you're stock is scoring around 9200, you're set, and that's all we really need. It's still infinitely more powerful than what we had before.

If you happened to get a defective model somewhere and are scoring less than 9000, RMA, and when you get a new one you'll more than likely be satisfied.

Also, for those who really care about more OC and getting that boost over 10000, I'm going to do some OC testing to see if I can get over 10000 consistently with a safe OC. Again, I don't plan to ever use it, but it's fun for testing, and I know some of you out there will use it.

  14. Oh! OK lol I forgot you mentioned that earlier that you have the GS63VR.

  15. Yes please if you can get 10k or above on a blade please screenshot and share I am trying as well and would love to see confirmation that it's possible, just for knowledge sake.

  16. Im totally confused, I play rise of tomb raider on high settings (not very high settings) at 1080p and get around 30 fps while all these ppl benchmark on utube get almost 70fps on very high settings not to mention they benchmarked the gtx1060 3gb which is supposed to be less powerful than the gtx1060 6gb version.

  17. So I finally got a score of over 10,000 on firestrike. No undervolt, Throttlestop installed, GeForce Experience uninstalled, and O.C. of 185/535... Firestrike Score 10,026

Did you check the clockspeed of the CPU and GPU? Also double check the temps. The EC 4.0 update might not have applied correctly.
