Hi! So I've had my Blade for three days now, and now that I've tried playing League of Legends again a problem surfaced. With the charger plugged in the game doesn't have lag, even in very high settings. When I tried unplugging it since the battery's fully charged, the game immediately dropped to framerates lower than 30 and had a lower response rate. The delay's very noticeable. I want to keep gaming but not at the expense of overcharging. Is it normal for it to be like this or can I configure my laptop to run the same whether plugged in or not?

    EDIT:
I've checked other forums in other sites and it seems that laptops automatically underclocks to conserve battery power. Is there a way to bypass it? I don't want to destroy the laptop battery by still gaming despite it fully charged. Or does the Blade have a some sort of overcharge protection function?

Through nvidia experience you can setting max battery (30fps) or performance (60fps) but shorter battery life as trade off.

I've already done that, and the issue persists with all games now that I've looked at it. There's a significant delay in input and lag when I remove the charger

Have you looked into Windows' settings?
I don't have this problem on my 2017 RB, though.

Nowaday lithium’s Battery will stop charging at its maximum, since Blade 2015 till now 2017 I always put it on charger at home, from 2015 after almost 2 years usage it wears only an hour from 4 to 3 hours plus sometimes 3,5 on light tasks.
i remember onetime forgot to switch on my multiple socket and play the game, but I didn’t notice any lags only red battery reminder after playing over an hour, it was Shadow of Mordor, so maybe you should updating gpu drivers both intel and Nvidia and see if the problem still exists, because it could be well known Optimus bug, if you still want to play on battery.

    Which should I optimize?

Power settings. Windows can change power consumption settings on its own, but you can change it.
