I feel like the Razer edge was just too high of a premium for a gaming tablet pc. Even though it may have looked like a good tablet, it cannot compete with the market of cheaper tablets out there.
When i first got it i loved to to death i played about 100 hours or more of skyrim on the gamepad controller. BUT after awhile it kinda died off for me, i still pick it up once in awhile but because of how dated the hardware is it cant really play any new games with good graphics ( i know thats not everything but it would be nice) So i am really hoping they bring it back with maybe a thinner, more powerful model even thought i know it wont fit the current accessories i already have Also for the "it didnt sell well" if i do recall it was sould out for months along with all its accessories. So it had to have sold ok but really it was for a small market and the price tag didnt help it. (theres my rant XD)
You, good sir, are a genius. Unfortunately, this would drastically increase the overall price tag which was already a bit too high for me.
It can be done perfectly I think as a very well integrated tablet/keyboard dock combo that mimics a mini Razer Blade #minirazerblade
I was trying to buy a Razer Edge Pro on ebay but I wanted all the accessories (the controller, dock, and keyboard case) which all together costs more than the tablet itself. It would be great if you brought back a newer, better version.
there is a possibility for razer to bring in the razer edge tablet back soon with the news on the gtx 960m or 965m gpu cards.... i would say its about the darn time they really shuld release the next edge tablet...
I always wanted to get an Edge, but the first generation seemed like it cut too many corners in overall experience in its quest to pack the most power possible. Lacking expandable memory and the keyboard dock not making it into a real sub-laptop with touchpad come to mind, and the small 10" form factor coupled with high-performance parts intended for larger machines crippled battery life. I would love to see the Edge come back, though hopefully a little bigger (12" like the Pro 3 would be ideal) and aiming to just give a solid gaming experience instead of going all-out with an i7. With Core M CPUs and Maxwell GPUs on the market now (maybe even AMD Micro APUs for an entry model? Who knows!,) I think there's a real possibility to make a next-generation Edge the perfect secondary device for gamers who need a mobile PC. Performance and power efficiency have come a long way in the short time since the Edge debuted.
If it had been released in EU I would've been very tempted to buy one. If they made a new one they could get similar or slightly better performance for the same price now technology has move on a bit and then release it all over the world and I think it would do much better. also if the accessories were a bit cheaper that would be good, i seem to remember them being a bit pricey for what they were.
It would be interesting to see razer update their edge line with nividia Tegra series. Maybe 2x Tegra k1 with slimmer design?
