What promos do they have going right now?
I agree, save ur $500 and in 3 or 4 years put it towards the new blade, that quite possibly could be the last blade with silicon chips in it. Anyone know if Nvidia has a roadmap for transitioning to the quantum realm yet?
The core is still nice to have for VR, multiple monitors, more USB ports, etc. I'm still grabbing one for multiple monitors and more USB ports
I don't think quantum is the next step. I read Intel's 10-K filing, and I think NVIDIA is going to try to do the same thing Intel is planning to do. They are moving the fabrication substrate to a higher-mu semiconductor like InGaAs or InSb.
I said in 3-4 years, not the next step. This didn't answer my question at all, but thanks for trying.
I know Volta is next at 10nm and is aimed for 2018
I assume the next iteration will be in 2020. That should be 7nm or less. I was just wondering if anyone knew of an official timeline past Volta.
Tomorrow is the day people or so we have heard! I really hope anyone who preordered super early like myself posts if they receive a tracking number tomorrow to know that it's legit shipping out on the 3rd. Btw, with that email, say it does ship on the third. Why would we have to wait for up to two weeks possibly to receive it if it "shipped" on the third and we have a tracking number and it's out of their hands? Was that just poor word choice? That's how I interpreted it
Or did they mean, we'll START on the third, do as many as we can, and some people will not have theirs shipped on the third but definitely in that two week range they'll be sent out as well?
I mean honestly this blade should last until a Volta blade.
They're probably starting on the third and they'll ship as fast as they can put labels on them(up to two weeks later)
Gotcha.. Upon looking at that email again I figure that made a lot more sense anyway! Okay well, I ordered 3/15 at 2pm so hopefully mines gonna be boxed up tomorrow. Haha it's funny when you get so close to the shipping date, all that waiting seemed so easy xD but if I heard "four more week delay we are sorry" I'd probably pop a blood vessel hahaha
Never have I checked my Spam folder so religiously... (the last email re: May 3rd somehow ended up there).
C'mon Razer, don't let us down tomorrow!
In ideal world it is like that. However XPS 13 Iris benchmarks do not show anything special due to thermal throttling.
I have all my confirm order emails, but have nothing regarding shipping.
Guys Pascal is being announced (although probably only Desktop) on May 6th. So you might wanna hold on a bit longer to see what Pascal can deliver before you shell out 2k on a laptop.
We dont really feel like waiting another year or so for a laptop that may or may not be of good quality, as the maker may just throw a pascal in there to get it out first, and not worry about overall quality. Ths 970m is powerfull enough for a laptop, and the core will cover it for years to come (put a pascal in it)
Mobile variants typically come out a month after the desktop variant, and then it takes a few months for manufacturers to bring that product to market. Like I've said before if you want to wait 6 months to sit on a pre-order list for a machine that is larger, heavier and gets less battery life go for it.
D: WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME NOW? I WAS FINE AND CONTENT WAITING. BUT YOU HAVE MADE ME QUESTION MY LIFE AGAIN! luckily my Razer doesn't ship until May 18th, after the announcement.
But then again. If I wait for Pascal. I will end up waiting for the next pascal. And then the next graphic card. By the time I finally catch up to the newest technology my life would have slipped out of my grasp. And I would have died, always one step behind...
I'll have to put that on my holographic grave.
Plus I have already waited 6 months for Skylake.
No thanks. Nothing better in the pipeline and I don't want to wait till next year.
Some people just like watching life go by. Technology is always advancing, but you need to take the plunge anyways. Sure it will become outdated sooner or later, but it is better than having absolutly nothing at all.
