I did a lot of testing with the Razer Blade 14 + Core with a 1070 FE and a Asus Strix 1080. I updated my post here if anyone is interested. I'm pretty happy with the 1080 results, especially since overclocking is possible. Hopefully I can get my hands on a Razer Blade Stealth soon to compare directly.

whoa. amazing, I told some people that an external GPU should be possible, I had a lenovo with an ultrabay (interchangeable components trough the optical drive slot), but an universal solution would be grand, USB was too slow to make a diffrence, all other slots would be too exclusive of slow, USB C is perfect

Huh? They sell a PC case already as a partnership with NZXT. Are you talking about a Core style mini-PC case?

Any idea what will happen to your coupon if you couldn't use before it expires? Even though my coupon has been extended till August I'm not sure whether they would release the Core in my region (SE Asia) by then

Guess just a heads up, Don't buy the MSI 1080 GTX GAMING X for the Razer Core as it won't fit because the power connectors are too high.

It can fit without the power cables but that's pretty pointless. Or if you take off the power connector housing but that's also too much hassle. You should just get a graphics card that's closest in size to a 1080 reference or smaller.

  15. Chrono,
I have no experience with the actual card. However, just to check, I believe in a much older post someone mentioned something like a L connectors, to allow the power cords to "fit' . So, possibly with those it still wouldn't fit? Though I guess needing an adapter wouldn't be a great situation.

    I only say this because..
From webpages I believe the card is 279x140x42mm while the Razer Core's max support is 310x152x44mm, which I guess is still a very snug fit.

It does help. I was looking at the 2016 Blade and really want it, but the RBS/Core combo is cheaper and thus easier to justify (unless you really want to help chip in for a 2016 Blade). I don't need all day battery life because I prefer doing most of my work on paper anyway. If I can get 6 hours unplugged, great. I am a bit of a hardcore gamer, so the iGPU won't cut it. I don't like the 2C/4T CPU or the 8GB RAM limit, but oh well.

I've been recently purchase the blade stealth, back to the time when I order it , Razer core was showing back order till august 12th, after couple days when I check it again it says it's back order till august 26th...
Just wondering if it's a delay? or it's pushed to next wave?
So there's no way that I can get it before august 26th? Summer will be over soon and have to get back to school on that time..

It's possible that they may get a batch shipped before the August 26th date, but not at all guaranteed. I know the last batch some people came here and posted that theirs were shipped even though it was before the date they saw on the page, but you can't rely on it.

My 980Ti hybrid fits if you remove the outer enclosure. This will do until my 1070 arrives.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I could not find an answer.

From the store page, "Compact 45W USB-C power adapter" sounds like the computer charger plugs into the USB-C slot on RBS.

So if you leave your computer plugged in to charge, you cannot use Core or other device (monitor) that uses the USB-C slot? I find it hard to believe that players would go to a weekend-long LAN party with their Cores and not be able to play on power as well.
