Transfering Files To Razer Phone

  1. Anyone else having the issue where they can't transfer files from their Win 10 PC to the phone? I have it set to File Transfer mode when I plug it in via USB into the computer. When I pull it up in File Explorer, it says "Phone". Double clicking it shows my MicroSD card and the internal storage. Then when I try to click and drag or Ctrl-C Ctrl-V a file into either spots, nothing happens. I did try enabling USB Debugging mode, but that's not required for a simple file transfer. This is honestly kinda ridiculous. Also, when I'd take my MicroSD and move files from windows to it by connecting it to a USB adapter, the files transfer onto the card, but as soon as I plug it into the phone, all those files disappear in the file explorer and are replaced with a file or folder called System Volume Information. Anyone else having issues??

Have you considered asking for help from the professionals? I've used the Cortex Branch of Razer Support at the suggestion of her CEO. Maybe you could let the Razer Phone Branch of Razer Support give you a hand? Insiders is more of a Social Forum. And the both times I used Razer Support they were great. Good Luck.

I downloaded an app called something like "Wifi File Transfer" and transferred all my files like that. The regular version allows up to 5mb per file. the paid version (Its like $1.50) is unlimited

I believe there is an app that can do that, not sure what it's called. Or you could always try asking Razer Support, they normally reply within a day or so.

I don't really mess around with to many apps, the only apps I use and trust are Razer apps with some "other" apps sprinkled in that were pre-loaded bloatware. Hopefully one day Razer will release an app that is Forums exclusive.

    Pre update here.
I plugged the phone in, see it on the PC, open phone, open and card folder, open music folder, drag and drop my files to it. Works.

I only counted three in the "other" brands store and a lot of crappy ones of their brand. And from the reviews I read those other guys hardly update anything. Looks to me like they're sitting on their laurels and just feeding their avarice. It's like they don't realize or don't care that Razer is coming for them.

when i put my sd card in, i have a choice to use it as external or internal memory. ...

the one problem i have, is that if i choose internal, then when i plug it into my pc it does not show up at all - all i see is the phone's memory. Obviously if i take the card out and put it in a card reader then into my pc, the pc does not see it as it has been formatted by the phone as internal memory therefore the pc cannot read it.

so i am stuck in a no win situation....

    1) if i format it as internal i cannot copy anything to it other than using my phone

    2) if i format it as external then i cannot use it to install my apps etc..

is there anyway i can use it as internal, but still be able to plug it into my pc and copy stuff to and from it

(from it is important as well - as otherwise how would you get your photos to your pc/home server other than with wifi transfer (bluetooth would be way too slow)

Plug in your phone to your pc and then pull down your notifications and look for the USB notification, and then select file transfer protocol.

Easy. That's with it formatted as internal storage.
You can also do this over Bluetooth to transfer files as well or you can also use AirDroid.
Use the 'downloads' app to view the sd. There's other apps available too, to do lots of this stuff.

i swear i did that - then i go in and only see the 57gb or whatever it is - i have a 128gb card as well which did not appear...

mate - hardly gonna use wifi to transfer 30gb of photos/vids to my media centre..

and 100% DEFINITELY NOT BLUETOOTH ..hhahahahaha be there for years

Are you sure the card isn't counterfeit?
Otherwise if you're not seeing the space I would plug it in to a PC, and do more analysis. I've tested a couple SD cards now, have no problem with partition sizes reporting nor any issues plugging in a USB and transferring files.

I was tempted to do it as external storage, but I'll just use a flash drive if it comes down to it.

You said 57GB only appeared, thought you were talking about 57 gig of the 128 gig. Did you format the 128 gig in the phone not before putting it in the phone? What brand is it?

Mate, please read before posting - no disrespect but I said the 128 extra is visible on the phone

Sorry, only saw this one at first.
You too though, asked ya a couple questions you didn't answer in the last post, mate.

Hi mate - apologies yes - but it forces you to format it in the phone no matter what - so i did that and it worked fine.

it is a samsung 128gb card - from amazon - but it is not fake.

    1) when you format as external your card should be read by pc using adapter & usb cable

    2) when card is formatted as internal it should not be read when plugged into pc with adapter, but you should be able to see it when phone is plugged in with usb cable to pc - mine is not showing still. I havent had any time to look into this properly as i run my own business plus have kids to deal with

    can anyone help here? seriously
