So, after playing League of Legends for over 3 years I decided that I should try DOTA out, since it was rotting in my Steam folder. I have a couple questions for you guys:

    1. How do lanes work? Is it always 2 - 1 - 2? Is there no jungler? If there is a jungler, when do they get picked? From what I've seen so far, there is no such thing as a dedicated jungler in this game, which confuses me a bit.

    2. How do people choose which lane they go? I've seen several heroes going all 3 lanes and I have no idea when to go where (for instance, I've seen people going Dragon Knight Top, Mid and Bot).

    3. Is the role of a support in the top lane different from the role of the support bot? Do they both gank other lanes? Are supports the only ones who should buy wards as the game progresses?

    4. Is the mid laner the only guy 'allowed' to use the donkey (since side shops are a thing) early game?

    5. Speaking of shops, I have no idea what the hell I should buy besides the recommended items, though I think this is due to my lack of knowledge of the different heroes.

    6. The heroes I've liked the most so far are Dragon Knight and Wraith King. Are they good heroes to learn the game with?

    7. Also, should I stick to bot games, or just jump into the fire and play vs real people?
Thanks in advance! If there is anything else you think I should know, feel free to tell.

I HATE roaming Mirana / support Mirana, because it's so often picked up later in a draft when somebody "doesn't want to play a support".
Then they just go Midas / Maelstrom EVERY game.
I'm trying to break 5k and Dotamax has told me than I have just under a 30% winrate over my last 200 games with a Mirana on my team and it's always these guys.
That's not to say it can't work, it's that once supports carry TPs and players are watching for arrows as soon as she's off map it's suddenly not such a great strategy. There is a reason it's almost never run in pro games.

I hate to have a bad attitude about games and I just needed a slot to rant, I think roaming Mirana is fun and I try to be supportive of team mates if they pick it.

I Hate support ZEUS , in low rank support zeus is useless, no skill for help in lane phase, just a sentry.
i think mirana not a good support too but if you have plans for airrow+something combos . can be picked her to play position 4. Spend a little money to buy things to make games. The 5th position may require a high level of skill play. But there must be heroes for combos as well.

i'm in SEA Server and try to play solo rank. A lot of times I have to play with teams with 4 carry, farm style, no teamfight skills. And of course, They rarely buy bkb. My current mmr has dropped from 3000 to 250.
...Just wanted to tell you my sorrow.
