There are many issues regarding Razer products due to counterfeit products that people buy off eBay. It looks new etc works fine (but they don't realise the poor performance and thought Razer quality is as such) and toss it away when it breaks soon after. They should register their products when they first get it. Quite a few don't, and rant online. Razer lachesis, abyssus, deathadders are pretty popular models for counterfeit manufacturers.

I get why some would hate it though. Personally, I was indifferent, but I had a Razer Blade and the QC on that was terrible, took a few tries to get the unit repaired to what it should've been. After I got rid of that laptop, I recently got Blackwidow Ultimate, but have not had a single problem with that. But also, those with bad experience tend to be more vocal.

Because they are fans of other company names... and haters gonna hate!

Personally, I think this is the biggest reason. They want to believe that they purchased "the best on the market" so they'll defend what they bought to the death. Sometimes, they might be right for whatever reason, sometimes they could be very wrong. However, they still need to feel like they own the best so they'll still defend because they don't know any better.

Truthfully, I think some people do the same for Razer with some products. Don't get me wrong, I support Razer in most things and they're hands-down my favorite brand to use/own, but I do feel that some people who have only tried one or two items still defend the entire company and all products like their lives depend on it, and that's just being ridiculous.

My take on this is quite simply scaling of vocal minority and the silent majority.

1% of 1,000 followers vs 1% of 1,000,000 followers. There are many, many examples to cite but the clearest examples are from the largest fanbases - PewDiePie, Apple/Samsung, etc. This applies to product uptake as well.

It is often more difficult to offer praise, one is far less likely to go out of the way to compliment than to throw out a complaint or hop on an existing hate bandwagon.

It is also rather difficult to extrapolate these numbers - and that said, we often default to the side of caution. We listen and weigh in on all our user feedback, even if it may be isolated and if it takes us a bit longer to reply.

At Razer, it is hardly our practice to shove products in our fans' faces. We're here to help you make an informed decision, we're here to listen to feedback and make the best products for gamers.

To be frank, a decision to not by an iPhone because there are many Apple haters and you're afraid of being labeled a fanboy is hardly a rational one.

If you have questions about our products, feel free to talk to our community, or even reach out to us.

  11. With Razer it is either love or hate in some people's opinion Razer is overrated and overpriced but personally I love what Razer does but I have to admit Razer is not the best keyboard or mouse manafacturer but they are a good all rounder that cares for their fans

Some people hate Razer is because:
    1) Some fake review
    2) Expensive? Gaming peripherals is all this price and even cheaper than SS or other brands.
    3) They never tried Razer products, don't know the experience from Razer. Since there's less reseller in my country.
    4) For the keyboard, they not using Cherry MX. I have no idea why they said Cherry MX is the best, if not Cherry then it's lousy..
These are what i heard from most my friends.

The problem with being a public figure, company, or really anything that's well known, is that many people use the word hate to tell you that they don't like that company. Simple as that.

    I hate Justin Bieber.
    I hate Apple!

I can't really hate them, because they haven't done anything to me, I just dislike their music/products!

I believe the majority of haters comes from the high prices found on Razer. Sure you can most definitely find Razer's products cheaper off of Amazon, but certain prices just seem too outrageous to an unknowing person. Many people would rather buy a keyboard and mouse for $30 rather than one keyboard for $130 and a mouse for $100, and that's fine. It's just that so many people don't see how the price could justify quality (that they can never see until trying the product).

The funny part about that, is that they will most likely need to replace their cheap hardware long before we need to replace our Razer gear and eventually they're likely to add up to the cost of the Razer gear over time anyway.

Firstly, hardcore fans on both sides of the coin just need to shut up. Those who blindly defend and hate are the worst of the people lol.

Few reasons why people hate Razer (from my perspective and also from a few persons I know personally):
    • Expensive pricing for products
    • Questionable quality sometimes - I personally find the Deathadder and Mamba very cheap-feeling because of how hollow and light it feels. Can't say I like any other mouse besides the ones I own now
    • Terrible audio products, mostly - Let's be fair here, the Razer Krakens are not my thing at all - they have no sound under than muddy bass. I've also tried the Carcharias, Electra, Adaro in-ears, Hammerhead Pros. Most of the time the bass is ridiculous, and the prices for these products? Even worse.
These are of course from personal views and preferences, including my own lol
But then again each to their own; I still buy certain products because they work well for me, and so do other brand's.

Looking through a lot of the forum discussions, it looks like quality control is one of the biggest issues :/

I like razer for comfort, everything just fits, all I have to do is rest my hand on it and it feels natural.

Razer is a company that is really open to the public with events, marketing, commercials, social media, etc. More than compared to Corsair, Steelseries, etc.

And now think of companies that have the same market strategy? Apple & Beats!
And what do many people say about their prodcuts? That it is over priced s**t!

Gamers start associating those companies when they here the name 'Razer'. They don't need to have tested Razers products. A higher price, bad reviews on amazon and that the company is more mainstream than others are enough to start hating.

But I can understand people that made bad experiences with Razer products. Their dislike is understandable.
