Can anyone that has purchased a Blackwidow (V1) through zsilver confirm wether or not they can change the mechanical switch on it or does it default to razer greens? on the V2 it specifies that it is the green switches that you get but not on v1 (so i'm kinda hoping that you can, would really love some yellow switches)

I am assuming you are talking about the Overwatch edition blackwidow keyboard since there isnt a v1 option other than that. That being said the Overwatch edition blackwidow v1 only comes with green switches so you dont have an option to swap those out either.

Well the x or the tournament :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. I really want them Amazon gcs mang, hopefully next month they bring them back or sooner. Have you redeemed anything?

I actually wanted to see whether the 300k limit of zSilver is something they actually implemented yet. As far as I know I might be the first to hit that so im not redeeming anything till I hit it. Only 42,000 zSilver more and we will see.

But first on my redeeming list is the Blackwidow Chroma X Tournament Edition. I usually always go for smaller keyboards and I havent tried out the green switches as of yet so I will get that first. Maybe an Atheris later on if I want a wireless mouse.

It IS possible to change mechanical switches, BUT:
    • You loose your warranty
    • It requires to dissasemble the keyboard, unsolder old switches from PCB, then solder a new one
    • It's expensive - better buy a new keyboard :)
Some time ago I saw some cool project on mechanical keyboard forums, that you can "hot-swap" mechanical keys. The keyboard had soldered "sockets" for mechanical keys & LED lights, so you only put a mechanical key in the socket... and it simply works :)

They are great if you like lots of feedback but Jesus they're loud, i usually play with a group of people and there's this one friend that has one Razer kb with green switches and Jesus.... When gaming gets intense you hear the clicking through his mic more than you hear the game sound (even though all of us have him as low as we could possibly have him :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

I think I've seen that before :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: but i guess i should've been a little more clear. What i meant was buying the keyboard with a different switch since on those 2 kb they don't specify the switch :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nice, i don't have as much as you do but i do want to get me a nice kb with yellow or orange switches. I do wish Razer a top of the line MMOrpg mouse, i have the naga (i use it for all sorts of games) and that laser sensor really isn't that great. Everything else about the mouse is good though. Really looking forward for the next Amazon gcs (like we were talking about on that other thread :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)
