UPDATE: Project Ariana has won Best of CES 2017 for Best Gaming Product and People's Choice.
Thank you everyone, it has been fun with you guys backing us every year. 2017 will be awesome, look forward to it.

You’ve seen and had hands-on to what we can do with Razer Chroma in our hardware. Unlike many players that are still trying to play catch-up, we’ve gone beyond fancy lighting to deliver integrated, functional effects to bring more immersion to your games.

We’re pleased to announce at CES 2017 that being supporters of an open community, we’re extending Razer Chroma support to a host of external partners for integration and utility in their products, from home solutions like Philips Hue, Nanoleaf to PC hardware like NZXT and Lenovo. The possibilities are certainly endless and we invite you to work with us on the future of Razer Chroma.

That said, we certainly have our own vision to where Razer Chroma’s heading, have a look at Project Ariana: http://rzr.to/ariana

Project Ariana is a concept design modeled after how the human eye perceives the environment, the vision beyond the boundaries of a monitor frame. Utilizing a highly intelligent room scanning and calibration technology, Project Ariana is able to create the perfect visual landscape to catch all the action in your battles — this is based on the dimension of your room, as well as objects in the room.

Project Ariana is a grand sight to behold and can be experienced at CES 2017 – keep a lookout as our community team shares some footage of it on site.

The future of gaming immersion is brighter than ever—learn more about Project Ariana: http://rzr.to/ariana

The market for this is going to be very, very limited...

So that sneak from IGN (probably wasn't supposed to be shown yet) WAS just concept. Interesting. I'll definitely be watching for new info about this product. Hopefully, Razer, you'll let us in on all the updates and how the project is going.

I still wonder about shadow, and will the gamer be stuck in one position, not able to move without the image looking out of whack?

Well, nice idea, but the projector itself looks kinda strange with white color. I know that one Xbox had project like that, to bring motion to room, but it was just project too, and everyone forgot about it. Still, I keep my fingers crossed, I hope it will succeed ;)
However, Chroma integration sounds awesome. Many people will like to hear it, cause they finally moght get Chroma LED strips :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Super happy with that. Also, HUE is connected to a phone, so there can be option to change collors with Siri. Awesome!

Now i understand the concepts and appreciate them way more! I hate that IGN leaked them, gave me the opportunity to be like wtf? Lol!!! I really hope to see atleast 1 monitor and 1 chroma PC case!!! My OCD is going crazy!! :slightly_sad:

I wrote about this in the Project Valerie thread, but this is poorly thought out. Most PC gamers aren't sitting several feet away from their monitor, as shown in the video - this might be more relevant for console players.

It's gimmicky at best, not really a "potential product" that one looks forward to.

    Weak sauce, Razer.

This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time! Having this projector show so, SO much more of the game world beyond the monitor is a really neat thing to me.
I love it. I can't wait for the day I get to try it myself.
To those saying negative things about Project Ariana, remember, it's mostly a concept right now. It's going to be improved on.

Better to attempt something like this than to stick with the same safe products! Interested to see how it turns out.

I guess perhaps the idea is you'd be more inclined to sit further away with this, get a whole gaming room set up going. I definitely will be interested to see this in action hopefully at some point, but I doubt I'd personally invest in one unless it has a lot of other capabilities :)

Greater Chroma expansions though is excellent news, soon we'll be seeing fully designed chroma rooms I'm sure :D

    @Raijin WHAT did I say?! lol :D

Obviously they can't avoid a shadow, assuming it's positioned behind the player, but as for moving around, all that's needed is some slightly sophisticated motion detection integration.
I did have the idea that perhaps the Stargazer webcam could help, but then I realized that it would be looking AT the player while the projector was (assumed to be) behind the player, thus the Stargazer would most likely pickup glare from the projection being cast directly onto it.

Not really a new concept either...

This is a Microsoft concept from 2013.

Forgot about that. This has to be the weakest CES in terms of products/concepts for Razer in years.

I'm hoping they have something else in store when the doors open, but not holding my breath.

Bring out official DOTA & League chroma already

And Ariana looks like a poor man's Philips Ambilight

Interesting technology, others have said existed for a while in various other capacities. As a razor fan-girl i love new chroma stuff, but this is one that I dont see being much use to me, which is unfortunate. Never the less, i LOVE seeing that razer is still trying new things.
