    This is such a nice aproach and I think it's better than corsair's or logitech's one. It is full of pros like 0 delay, the mouse is so lightweight and so on, the only downside I can see is the price or the fact that u can't use that mouse with something else.

    the only thing holding me back is the price

    Does the mouse power generation work even if the mouse pad itself isn't supplied with power?

    I would get it if the mouse comes in the shape of the ouroboros. >.<. Which probably means its gonna cost a lot more again I guess...

    just to be clearer, this is different than the original firefly and mamba right?

    Yes.

    Even if the name's product are the same, the models are different.

    You get wireless Mouse that also could be used wired for let’s say 120, mouse pad that has two changeable layer hard and soft for 60 bucks, the rest you pay for Chroma ;)
