    So for new year I wanted to buy keyboard so i wanted RAZER. (I have kraken pro and deathadder) but i cant decide witch one. DEATHSTALKER or BLACKWIDOW. BLACKWIDOW is really fantastic and my friend has one,but i heard that DEAThSTALKER is also fantastic. SO: can someone who has one of these two keyboards tell me which of these two to buy. TNX.

    Hello, I own both keyboards I bought the death stalker because one of my older black widows I unfortunately broke by spilling a bottle of whisky on it. Now the death stalker is neat but amazingly there is not much use for the touch screen as of yet and it is much more comfortable to have a real numpad. BLACKWIDOW all the way the mechanical keys are amazing and the way it types its more comfortable than any keyboard I've used.

    Are you gaming really much or more writing and so on?
    Because i Have a Deathstalker (not ultimate) and a blackwidow chroma
    I never know that there such a big difference, because the deathstalker is cool and is good for writing and so on but for gaming it's not perfect. When i get my blackwidow it was like a really new sort of gaming :D sounds stupid but you have to try it . You can also play wit deathstalker but blackwidow has much more benefits.

    Good luck in making your choice.

    Well it all depends, do you record any videos? I have the DeathStalker and I live stream/record and you can't hear it. But with the black widow you can hear it in videos and it's just annoying. If you don't then I suggest getting the black widow

    What QuEnSiTy said. I'm also considering both but because I use the controller more than the keyboard for gaming I don't really need a BlackWidow. I'm going for the DeathStalker Expert instead.
    You should consider how you're going to use the keyboard (writing or gaming) and choose the one that suits you best.
    Also depends if you like mechanical keys or not. Personally the loud clicky noises get on my nerves after a while so there's another reason I would choose the DeathStalker.

    I do not recommend you get the DeathStalker Ultimate (I think what you mean by expert), that's twice the price of the Death stalker for one little feature that really isn't worth the extra $50 something dollars

    No Sir, there are 3 versions of the Deathstalker: Essential, Expert and Ultimate. I would pick the Expert version since it has backlighting and a num pad, it doesn't have the switchblade UI, that's only on the Ultimate version.

    I play with headphones on a lot so the mechanical keys don't bother me too much, I love the new chroma features! It's a pretty hard choice in terms of the specs. Maybe you could tell us a bit more about the games you play, what kind of things you want from your keyboard?

    I was looking at the Deathstalker Ultimate as a replacement for my old Logitech G13. I found the LCD on the G13 very useful over the years for system monitoring and the media control. Finally got sick of the older Logitech software and picked up a cheap used Deathstalker off eBay for use while I budgeted in the Ultimate version. Now I'm rethinking it because of the chiclet style keys. They are much harder to game on than cylindrical keys. I find my fingers sliding off and it hard to re-position them.

    For actually working on, the keyboard is great. It's much easier to keep clean with the chiclet keys. So I'm thinking of picking up a Tartarus to actually game with. If that goes well, I might pick up an ultimate for the SBUI as I feel it would be good for work, though I'd rather see a new, more gaming friendly, keyboard with the SBUI on it.

    I've had the BW for about 2 years now and I love it. I seem to recall the BW being cheaper than the DS as well, so with the spare cash you may be also be able to upgrade your mouse ;)

    DeathStalker -> Chiclet membrane keyboard
    BlackWidow -> Mechanical keyboard

    I will vote for BlackWidow as I am currently using a BlackWidow 2013 edition.

    So. This is a question without a good answer .
    You will hear lot of different meanings. I play Also Cod and Wow and AC and have tested both (Deathstalker and Blackwidow).
    I have to say i really like the Blackwidow for gaming. So i think you should try out the BW.
    But it's a question where you have to find your own best feeling.

    Depends on what games you play but basically
    FPS, MMO, and MOBA Style games are good for keyboards that have easy to press buttons. This is because you normally press multiple sets of the same 3 or 4 keys in a few seconds. With games like CSGO, and example would be when a player is strafeshooting. He rapidly presses A...then D... Repeat and shoots inbetween each keypress. In MMOs and MOBAs many players keyspam, when they press 1-4 or qwerty many times without purpose. A membrane keyboard is good for those players because they are easy to press and don't deteriorate as fast as mechanical keys.

    In RTS, FPS, and sometimes fighting games (i dont know any pro who uses a keyboard in fighting games so keep that in mind) Players enjoy having a mechanical keyboard instead of the membrane keyboard. Pro Starcraft II players will almost always be using blue, brown, or black Cherry MX Switches on their keyboards (and the occasional Green, Orange, and Red Switches) This is because most of these switches are hard to press and clicky, which is good for things like Starcraft II because you only press 1 button at 1 time (or in their case,5 buttons in 1 second) FPS Players like mechanical keyboards as well, but they prefer non-clicky or silent Switches because they dont actually use their keyboard that much compared to their mouse. Because FPS Players like Non-Clicky instead of Clicky, i normally disregard their opinion because of how i play RTS and not FPS, but its good to base your opinion based off of what games you play

    If you Enjoy playing games without a loud keyboard and you play mostly FPS, MOBA, and MMO's Get the Deathstalker
    If you Enjoy RTS, Get a Black widow with green or blue(?) switches
    If you Enjoy FPS and you dont like Membrane Keyboards, get a BlackWidow with Orange Switches

    Don't be afraid to go to different places (such as bestbuy) asking to test some of the keyboards, normally they allow you.
    Hope you find the right keyboard!

    For these games you wouldn't need a mech keyboard.
    The difference between these you are feeling very good in ego shooters .
    So if you're going to play MMORPG only and you say it's not really important to watch about design and features buy the Deathstalker. But i prefer different games and for me design and special features are very important so i took the BW.
    But you have to know itself. Both are really good Keyboards.

    I mean gamers spent the most time in front of their equipment so i think it's very important to feel as comforatble as possible. Better spent 100 € on something really good than 20€ on something you will have to change 3 times

    By the way .... The BW clicky sound is first nice... after a time it goes on my nerves ... and know it's like music .. won't stop typing anymore :D
