I just got my Atheris yesterday and absolutely love it! My one issue with it is the rough texture of the top of the mouse. I was just wondering how many people feel the same way and would want a different textured top. Additionally, they could have limited edition or branded tops. It could be just like the New 3ds cover plates. Now, I know that the Razer Atheris is marketed as a productivity mouse that can also game, but just the idea of it seems so great that I couldn't help suggesting it. What do you think?

Razer release Atheris signature black edition, but nothing different from original one.
Differnt color top cover for limited edition is good idea.

    I like the idea :)
Atheris unfortunatelly doesn't have chroma, instead of this maybe chroma top shell ?:D

That would kill battery life, and the fact that it uses 2 AA batteries it wouldnt be wise for most people. I bet OP here could just paint the top shell since the top shell separates from the mouse itself and has no electronics to dismantle on it.

Ye I know, but Orochi had this. There is always option to turn off all lighting, so it would not kill the battery ;)

Yeah I guess so but I would rather have tops with graphics or some limited run tops for games like Overwatch, PUBG, CS GO etc.

I don't think that Razer has ever had the top of a mouse Chroma (other than the scroll wheel), but that would be AMAZING! It could wrap all the way around the edges so that you can actually see all of the lighting. While I do think that it would drain power, the Atheris already has fantastic battery life. For people that primarily game on their laptop like me,this would be fantastic. I originally got a Lancehead for its Chroma Lighting and only got the Atheris after I realized that my Lancehead was defective and wouldn't charge, so a Chroma top for Atheris would be a godsend. I'm not sure how it would work, though. I guess that we could just charge the top, but that could be a bit cumbersome.

That would require a completely new mouse design. They dont have any contact pads on the mouse itself so for them to add a chroma top they will need to give it power from somewhere else. I asked if they would ever make a gaming grade wireless mouse but having the size of the Atheris or slightly bigger, this would be a perfect combo for me if they ever do.

I thought about "passive" chroma, more like the Diamondback mouse, which have "chamelleon" style painting like this one:
It look awesome under the light.
