just 2 ideas i had around the Blade:

1: i am a 16 year old student, and i only can dream about having a Blade ( even doh they don't sell them yet in europe, but anyway) , the only problem is the price tag, so my first idea is (pls no hate, i don't like to say it eather) a budget Blade, meaning less powerfull hardware but a more affortable price

2: i'm suprised people haven't thinked about this but let's be honest: chroma headset, chroma keyboard, chroma mouse (you know what i'm heading too). next time they do a refresh, razer, for the love of your awesomeness, give us the chroma Blade

feel free to tell how ya feel about this 2 ideas, maybe some of you also have some awesome ideas

@nfswmaniac That's similar to the keyboard I have on my current laptop (not a Razer) though mine can only be lit in three sections or the entire keyboard at once. But I can choose from a color wheel what colors I want. It's really cool. I think that would be a great idea on the Blade keyboard. :)

I have the Blade R2 and its not the specs of the computer that make it expensive, its the level of detail that you are getting in such a slim portable package. I have had many gaming laptops and this is the only true mobile one ive had. I used to own many G series Asus but they were big and heavy. Also the aluminum anodized body is probably not cheap to manufacture. I believe they are most comparable to Macintosh computers which puts them very competitively priced for what you get

Srry But comparing a blade to a Mac? Not the best comparison, But anyway i meant if they like used a les powerfull i5/i7 and a GTX 960 as a more budget friendly option to the standard i7 and GTX 970 ( what they probably will use with the next refresh). most people Will Buy that i think, Lets be honest it isnt a bad idea is it? Btw NEVER and i mean NEVER compare a Blade to a Piece of sh*ttiness called a macbook (srry i dont like macbooks)

I believe the Razer Blade to be pretty damn near absolute perfect (like the Razer Deathadder). You're right in the sense that a chroma Blade would make sense, but other than that (and $$$), I think the Razer Blade shouldn't change. If change is NEEDED, then I know I would make some sort of new laptop technology (liquid cooled (lawlz), or have the keyboard half of the laptop a screen), but instead of overlaying that on top of the Blade, the new technology would be incorporated in a separate Razer laptop.

I don't like the idea of a Chroma Blade. I believe Chroma peripheral's purpose is to fit with any computer.. If your desktop is red, you set it to red. If your desktop is green, you set it to green.. So you should fit your peripheral's color to Blade's color, not the opposite.

Macbook isn't good for gaming, but there's no reason to call it 'piece of sh*ttiness' since gaming is not it's purpose.

Liquid cooling would be awesome! But i think it would make the laptop bigger :slightly_sad:

Umm thats actually what i meant, to make like a separate mode for a chroma blade, plus did i ever mention a design change except the lighting?

Umm and if a person has a favorite mouse or keyboard without costumisable lighting?

Umm liquid cooling Mods have been done in the past, if they do it correct it wont be that much bigger

Razer sells mouses/keyboards, and they are now focusing on Chroma peripherals, so probably all Razer's mouses/keyboards will be Chroma very soon. Why would they make a Multi-color laptop (wich would increase it's cost) if their peripherals fits Blade or any other system?

You're right, doing it right it wouldn't be much bigger, but it would still be bigger than air cooling.

Why wouldn't they want a chroma keyboard on their Blade?? Then it can match whatever mouse they opt to buy and any other chroma peripherals ... it would be kind of disappointing to have chroma everything else but be nailed into only having a green keyboard on the Blade "just because" ... what if you wanted to match your keyboard to your desktop wallpaper? Makes perfect sense to me.

And if you're using the Blade and traveling, why would you want to have to take an additional keyboard or any other peripherals for that matter? It makes perfect sense to want the one and only item you'd travel with to be just as customizable as what you'd use at home ...

Razer blade with that change colours would be pretty sweet, especially if can change the razer logo itself and make it flash, eye catching as hell. If they produce a budget blade, it would lack the performance new release pc titles as their goal is to pack performance. My advice is to get the 2013 blade, yes it is still expensive but it is worth it and I have one :)

    1. I agree. @Razer you should really ship Blades to EU. But I'm afraid that if this happens the price will be the same but in €s. This would mean that the 265GB model would cost around €500 ($630) more than in US and Canada. So please sell the Blades in EU but don't make them even more expensive than they already are.
    2. I don't know about Chroma Blade. Meaby it should stay sexy green.
    3. Next gen Blade with a Thunderbolt port.

For Gamers. By Gamers! Keep up being perfect!

I did not mean comparing the blade to a macbook in the sense of gaming or performance. I meant in the sense of style and build quality. You pay for the brand on the macbook and similarly to the Blade. You are not just getting a truly powerful gaming laptop but you also get a unique piece of machine. I dont know how many people have asked me about mine out in the public.

  16. I believe that Razer should make it so you can customize the Blade to fit your budget. Other companies like Origin and Alienware do that, so why not Razer? They could also make it so you can select the chroma feature, or just stay with the green during the customization.

Adding a Thunderbolt port would be nice too, because of the high data transfer speeds, the ability to daisy-chain hard drives and other thunderbolt/mini display port peripherals, or you can just use it as a mini display port or use other adaptors. I also think it would be possible to use an external graphics card with a thunderbolt port, kind of like what Alienware has recently done with their new external graphics card system. A company called Sonnet Technologies already makes expansion chassis that lets uses PCIe to plug into Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt 2 is just as fast as a PCIe slot, so why not use that to an advantage?

If you have seen inside the components of the Razer Blade, it is difficult to change parts since it is crowded as the only thing u can change is the wifi card and the SSD. If Razer's engineers can get around that problem, that would be so sweet. The external graphics card that Alienware is using, is like taking it to the next level. So I think Razer could invest in that. By the way, MSI has unveiled the laptop with a mech keyboard, which looks hideous but could be the next step since they want to create more of a competitionbetween Alienware and Razer. I hope that Razer can pull out something that can impress us fans and blow Alienware and MSI out of the water :)

I own two Blades, the Razer Blade 2012 and the Razer Blade Pro 2014, love them both. I use the older one for school/work and the newer one for gaming. I personally would love to see two things added to the Blade, A.) mechanical keyboard, B.) Chroma built in. I'm just worried that they are moving away from the Pro line and focusing too much on the standard 14" Blade. Which would suck for me cause I prefer the higher power of the Pro.

Woah you have two Blades  One blade is already expensive but two Woah!!!. Mech Keyboard would be interesting and it should be implemented in the Razer blade pro., idk how they could put it in a ultra-slim form factor, time will tell. :) By the way, switchblade UI?, never used it, thoughts? or is it just a razer gimmick?

OK I figure Razer should do the rgb keyboard because it is a good idea but as like a $50 option because it is not really needed but I think you guys really like it. I have a razer blade and I really don't think that they should put a mechanical keyboard because the whole point of the notebook is portability, power and a bad ass looking pc and the mechanical keyboard would ruin all 3 points. Plus if you really need one you could bring it separate. In my opinion logical upgrades would be 16 GB of ram, the GTX 970m with 4-6 GB of video ram and for them to try there hardest to improve cooling. It's a really good computer but something that would be really nice would be if they added a display port and thunderbolt port instead of HDMI because those two ports are smaller, much better output and can be easily adapted. The last thing would be if razer added a separate microphone jack in addition to there aidio/mic combo so people with separate audio and mic cables can plug there stuff in (its not really a big deal but would be nice to see).
