I've had great performance to date with Ubuntu Mate, but the upgrade to 20.10 and the 5.8 kernel left my machine not booting with poisoned memory errors. To be safe, I replaced the memory modules, but no change. I tried other 20.10/kernel 5.8 distros (plain Ubuntu, Pop! OS, etc.), but they give the same error or, if not showing the console messages, don't boot to a live desktop. The system boots and runs fine with either rolling back to the 5.4 kernel or reinstalling any 20.04 based version, so I'm back on Ubuntu Mate 20.04. Anyone else having any similar problems with 20.10 releases or the 5.8 kernel?
