So which one is best out of these 2?

  1. Razer Kraken 7.1 V2

  2. Razer ManO'War 7.1 Wired

So I currently have a brand new Man O'War headset (Unboxed, Not Used).. But I'm wondering is it worth selling and getting the Kraken 7.1 V2.

I've previously owned the Kraken 7.1 for 4 years. And loved it.

I'm writing this as there is nothing on the web comparing these two and would love some input.
So I'll start with the brief overview of both and what I believe are the pro's and con's. I would love some help from my fellow Razer cult members!

Points regarding the microphone quality would be great, I have only heard the Man O'War 7.1's mic, I don't know how the V2 Kraken compares to original 7.1

Understand I have not properly used either of these headsets so my points are more views than opinions.

The Man O'War 7.1 Wired Edition

    My Pro's
    • Comfy
    • I believe the sound quality is greater
    • In line volume control
    • Can use on xbox one as well as anything with a 3.5mm jack
    • Ear cups sit around ears rather than on.
    My Con's
    • Plastic feels cheap, not sturdy nor durable.
    • No end of mic mute indicator
    • Due to the large size, I believe people with smaller heads will get irritation from the ear cups sitting on the top of your ears.
    • There must be a reason it has a higher price point. Is it just sound or am I missing something.

    Razer Kraken 7.1 V2

    My Pro's
    • Familiar design
    • Mute indicator on end of microphone.
    • Improvement over previous Kraken models
    • Same 50mm drivers as ManO'War
    • Durable, aluminium frame and headband, made to look like it will last.
    • Active noise cancelling microphone
    My Con's
    • Sound quality not as good?
    • Slightly smaller over ear clearance than Man O'War but still fits over none-the-less.
    • Higher frequency range (I believe that is a bad thing, please correct me if i'm wrong)
    • Doesn't look as flashy, although it looks like it will just feel more rugid. (sort of pro)
    • No volume control.
    • Direct USB no 3.5mm jack

Thanks for your time, I hope we get a clear verdict and that this thread will help out others in the future!

As far as I know, The sound quality is the same in both of the headsets. The Kraken 7.1 V2 has 50mm Audio Drivers, The Kraken 7.1 V2 does not have the problem where the headband can pop off and can hurt your head, And fall off. The aluminum frame is super good, And they are a lot better then the regular Kraken 7.1's. You can wear them for hours upon hours and still not have any pain done to your head.
I have not wore the Man O War's yet, but i find that the Earcups on the 7.1 V2's fit good, And if you want you can order the oval shaped ear cups off of the Razer Store.
Overall, its all up to you. Since you have the Man O Wars already, You could just use them to save you the problem. Or if you want to try something more familiar you could just get the Kraken 7.1 V2's.

Thanks Jenjar. I think I'm going to go for the Kraken 7.1 V2's.

I have the old Kraken 7.1's and enjoyed them, so I'm going to stay with familiar headsets
