I am just curious to see what people think about the new rewards system now that it has been out for a few months. Im curious to see if people like the new rewards over the old rewards that focused more on forum activity rather than running a game.

    Just curious.

I like the new reward system much. Old was quite good too, but now you have more rewards to choice :)

Yeah, but the rewards are minimal.
The value of the rewards is literally around 40 times smaller. You could have gotten like 250$ worth of stuff, now you can get like a 10$ discount.

I have feeling that we have been ripped off, as these rewards were taken from us. I have nothing against adding new ones, but removing older ones that people have beeing working for were just taken away from them.

We could have gotten a Deathadder, a Kraken and a couple of other discounts, now with the same level of activity you get like a 10$ discount.

A Lancehead TE costs like 104000 zSilver, and from all my current Insider rewards I got like 5000 zSilver, so like 20 times less. Not counting that I could have gotten a Kraken as well.

So putting numbers into perspective, now my rewards are 40 times less valuable.

If there wasn't paid to play I couldn't really get anything.

The 5000 zSilver I got from Insider for being active a year and a half, helping the community, defending Razer and all other stuff, is rewarded as much as playing a game for a week.
    What were you thinking Razer?

The whole zVault is really cool but ya, there's very little incentive to be active on Insider. There does overall seems to less spam though, so that's good. It makes it very clear when there are over 500,000 Insider accounts but there's only ~200 people that are on here. The amount of posts on the Fast and Furious Blade Stealth giveaway was just ridiculous, but even with all those new people the forums aren't any more active now. But still, something is better than nothing and Razer is doing good with maintaining a small community. The old rewards were great while they lasted, hopefully they'll eventually improve the new ones more.

The way you explained it in that other thread, I voted for the old way.

I liked the rewards of the old system much more, But i am very glad that the new system got rid of most of the spammers on this forum, There still are a few of them around but not near as many as there where during the time the old rewards system was in place. I also think that Razer should not advertise those insider giveaways such as the 500,000 Insider members blade giveaway as much on social media, Since it does bring many new people to the forums and i would say less then 1/4th of them stay active on here.
I think the new System could use a rework though, With some more different ZSilver rewards since after a while, You get close to everything unlocked, And there's no refreshes or new stuff being added too often like the old system.

@Predator5 I basically feel the same, the new reward system is just like every point based system that is used in most modern shops, nothing special at all and the rewards are very hard to get

for example I hardly play any games that are listed in pay to play, I just don't have the time
so in order for me to get anything from my insider activities it would take years, and although my post count is pretty high it only got me around 4k silver....

that's one reason why I haven't ordered anything from the razerstore since the new system got implemented, and I probably won't in the near future
prices on amazon are lower and without any special gifts there is no reason to buy from razer directly

However since razer put much effort in making and promoting the system I doubt that we will ever see the old system or something like a non point based system ever again, it is also way cheaper, giving away free krakens probably got just too expensive

I actually made a thread some time ago, asking why it would take me ~ 30 years of being active on insider to get a 100k reward but it got deleted for "non constructivness"

Why do Razer officials keep ignoring this topic?
I feel like we were cheated on.
  9. gaykob7

probably because they couldn't change anything, the main benfit from the new system is that it is way cheaper
and they are probably not in a position to decide how much razer can spend on free stuff

I guess we should be happy that razer even offers free stuff. I certainly don't see corsair or Logitech offering anything for free. At least not that I know of.

Yeah that is a good point. In the end when you think about it, Even though some people feel like we are being cheated on, Razer still is giving us the chance to get free stuff or discounts on items for just posting and playing games, And the old system did most likely make Razer loose a fair bit of money. At least with the ZGold and ZSilver way of doing things they make some money back from people buying the ZGold.
Even if they don't do anything with the Insider system to make it close to what it used to be, I hope they continue to add to the list of redeemable ZSilver items, And add some cheaper things you could redeem other then keyboards and stuff, Say the chroma keychain or some of the other merch products, other then the snapback.

I'm too new here to know how the old reward system worked, but any company that offers any reward system has got to be a good thing. I used to have a ton of Logitech gear before I found Razer (saw the light, literally), and I don't remember ever being offered anything for free or even discounted. So big thanks to Razer, I'll never look back.

I agree with you to a certain extent, but they have to reduce/inflate the rewards of zgold and zsilver to keep the balance going, it's almost like i new small economy within razer.

Wow, I forgot I even posted in this thread. That was one of the first times I realized there was a rewards system on the forums, getting the "We like your style!" trophy. (To bad I was trying to play vigilante and got to many warning points to even access that page! :smile_:, it's cool though, I still ain't got nothing but love for ya Razer!) I remember feeling really stoked. It's stuff like that and all the free stuff that Razer gives it TRUE fans that makes the Razer community the great thing it really is! Even if some us tend to forget it.....

Although I wasn't here at the time of the old system but is there any links of old rules/platforms of how it went. Could chime in that way?

In all honesty though, that's just part of the marketing strategy. It was a major of mine and it's one thing I learned from it was how to sell your product. You can virtually take any major company today and see how it started from them. You engage the public by selling/giving away your products for next-to-nothing cost. Once your base of consumers grow, those products starts to slowly disappear. Razer is still growing vs other computer/gaming companies out there and is still marketing this in their own way with "free stuff". Look how large your base has grown or forums for this matter in the last 6 months. I read that a lot from those thats been here in the beginning how much this place has grown since the Zsilver and rewards etc etc.

I'll just say overall its nice for a base that has grown very much so in just the time I've been here (2-3 months) that Razer still appreciates their fans in such a way to still carry this rewards program as @Hucast pointed out. No other companies has taken this kind of leap. Is in which why I respect Razer overall as a company and decision-making.

PS. You can read samples of this "strategy" like this here.. https://goinswriter.com/best-marketing-strategy/

It was post based only. (no likes or anything other than posts)
    10? for necklace.
    20 for beanie.
    350? for Kraken Mobile.
    500 for Deathadder Elite.
There was a $20 off coupon in there too I think and a couple other smaller things. There's very few people over 500 posts even now, around 40. And the top 100 users are barely over 300 posts each, so not that many people got to the bigger rewards.
There was more spam back then too, and it has reduced that it seems like.

Yup, remember the old system - but I think, that the opposite - IMO now it's more spammers now trying to farm zSilver, or kids crying about paid to play system, haters posting countless & usless posts.
