Adjusting this post to be on the first post for visibility:

We are aware that a very small number of users have reported some erratic performance results when benchmarking the new Razer Blade 2016 (GTX 1060). We have been investigating these concerns and have discovered the cause.

Due to some instantaneous current demands during benchmarking that drives both the CPU and GPU simultaneously, some units are activating the PROCHOT signal unnecessarily. This specific PROCHOT scenario is not related to system thermals and does not represent a failure of any component in the system.

We have developed a EC fix for this that involves modifying the parameters of the charge controller without disabling the PROCHOT control. This fix will address the benchmarking scores on systems that currently exhibit the PROCHOT issue. We estimate the number of units that have this issue is less than 5% of the units that we have shipped. We also are rolling this update into manufacturing, so that newly produced units with serial numbers after BY1647A20803399 will not be susceptible to the issue.

If you are experiencing 3DMark Fire Strike scores below 9000, your system likely is affected by the PROCHOT issue, and you can elect to download and install the EC fix. Once installed, you should achieve 3DMark Fire Strike scores above 9000, under normal test conditions. If you are getting 3DMark Fire Strike scores above 9000 currently you do not need to install the EC fix, as your system is not affected by the issue.

At Razer we take all issues very seriously and value the level of detail and passion that our community provides to make every Razer product the best experience possible for everyone. We thank you for choosing Razer for your gaming gear and we apologize if this has caused any inconvenience to your Razer experience. Should you have further issues or concerns, please reach out to our support team directly and they will be able to help answer any questions you may have.

Hi, so I just received my Razer Blade 2016 GTX 1060 today. I'm happy to benchmark any game you want that I have, or if you have any questions I'll answer them.

    Improving battery life significantly:

Go to Intel HD Graphics Settings:

For Plugged in, change it to: Maximum Performance. (To get better performance when gaming)
For On Battery, change it to: Maximum Battery Life, also enable Enhanced Power Saving Mode. (to get better battery life when not charging)
In windows settings, changed the power plan from Balanced to Power Saver.
Also, I set the keyboard lighting to minimum and screen brightness to 60% with Battery Saver ON.

After doing all these steps, I'm getting a huge improvements in battery life. Now getting estimation of 5:30 hours from a full charge, previously only getting 2 - 2:30 hours.

Can you confirm that it is actually running cooler and quieter than most people were expecting? Also if you have ARK I'd be curious to see how it handles it.

    Ark survival evolved please :)
Trying to compare my 970m against it.

Here is The Witcher 3 running at 2048x1154 with mostly high settings at a stable 60 fps. Sorry for the background noise. Note there is a FPS counter on the top right corner from steam.

In terms of heat, it runs much better than my previous 2016 blade with 970m, especially near the power button it's much cooler. As for the fan noise, I think they are both the same. I'll try to test ARK soon.

    Ok will test it soon.

Can you post a screenshot of the system temps using HWiNFO after playing a graphics intensive game for at least 15 minutes?

Dota 2 with max setting pls
and yeah, also like @Efekkt mentioned, the system overall temp after gaming for a while.

If you have a 120/144hz monitor could you test USB-C to Displayport or Dual Link DVI? The only thing stopping me from buying right now is the fact that my 144hz monitor would be useless. A huge thank you if you can.

Here is The Witcher 3 running at 2048x1154 and you get 60 fps? Jeez. lol. Now I can't wait for mine. Do you have GTA V?

And I assume you're not having any unusual noises like some members have posted last week? No odd clicking or electrical noises?

Witcher 3 was going to be my suggestion, perhaps the new DOOM? The Witcher 3 is more demanding than the new DOOM, but it still looks very pretty and maybe all the bodies exploding in a big fight might cause slowdowns? Also I would be curious to see how well it handles streaming to twitch while gaming.

    Rome 2 Total War?

That was actually my real first choice, or Attila, but I didn't think it likely that someone would have it as its not that well known.

Whaaat? Who doesn't know the Total War series?

Awesome thanks, looks like the cpu temp is ok as long as other games don't make it run much hotter. If you scroll down more in HWiNFO you can get more system temps like the PCH temp and GPU. Most thermal paste jobs aren't great from the factory, speaking in general at least I don't know about Razer's, at some point you could probably repaste if temps start getting higher.

Actually the battery life seems to be so much worse than my old 970m model. I'm only getting 2.5-3 hours when only browsing and doing light stuff. I think it could be only my unit :slightly_sad:

Sorry I don't have an external monitor, hopefully someone else can help you.

No noise at all. The fans seems to be a bit louder than the 970m when idle but not very loud.

DOOM added to the testing list :)
As for the witcher 3, you can see even when there is explosions and fighting, the fps stays at 60 which is impressive. Sorry I never used twitch so I can't help with that.

Sorry but I dno't have that game.
I'll do another temp test and take a full screenshot.

That gpu clock seems way low.. I run my 970m at 1172. Something is missing there..
