I have done some hobby based streaming while playing games and I have used two different programs to do it, and I have found some nice features in both of them. One program is of course Razer Cortex but lets start with the other one, GeForce Experience and its features that I like that Razer Cortex is missing (as far as I know):

    1. Smaller performance hit
    2. Name your stream every time you start one
    3. Number of viewers in the overlay
And what does Razer Cortex have that GeForce Experience is missing?

    1. Twitch comments - available to have included or excluded in the streams.
    2. Be Right Back screen[/b] - Available with a hot key or auto shown during loading screen, using a default BRB image or use your own.
Not that many differences, but if you could put all the good things in one program - I would use it over the other.

Use OBS, it has a lot more options to personalize your stream

Check out StreamLabs OBS. I believe it's still in Beta right now, but I have had 0 problems with it. You can also import overlays from OBS, and it has crazy customization and community created overlays to download, including animated overlays.

What the two before me said: use software that is designed from the beginning for streaming; it gives you a lot more options to set things up how you want, all the AFK, BRB, starting soon, thanks for watching, whatever screens you could dream of, better control of streaming resolution and framerate and where you want to stream to, etc., etc.

I'd recommend OBS too, but if something else is more to your liking, you go with that.
