Razer synapse bug on system lighting

    Hello,

I bought the razer blade 15 2 weeks ago and I realized that the system lighting in synapse does not work properly.
A weird thing happens when I set the system lighting on battery(tab) to DIM and on plugged(tab) to NORMAL. After restarting and when I am on battery the keyboard lights are brighter that DIM. When I try to reduce the light they come back brighter, after 1 min. So I went to synapse and saw that the battery tab and the plugged tab are reversed, meaning that if I set DIM on plugged tab, I will have DIM brightness when I am on battery.
I thought that it will be the case but after another restart it reversed back again so I have to change it every time.

Does anyone have the same problem? Is it going to be fixed with an update?

Hmm. Let me help you with this. Have you tried doing a repair of Synapse? Also, can you take a screenshot of your settings before and after the reboot?

By the way, I'll be moving this thread to the Support section.

    Hi Razer,

I can confirm this. I also have the RB15 2018 edition.
    Current settings in synapse:
    - System > Lighting > System Lighting > Plugged In > Brightness: ON, 60 PluggedIn.PNG
    - System > Lighting > System Lighting > On Battery > Brightness: ON, 6 OnBattery.PNG

While on battery, after 2-3 minutes,
    - the keyboard light will become as bright as the Plugged In brightness
    - No change in setting in Synapse, ie. On Battery > Brightness: ON, still 6

At this point, press FN+F10 to reduce brightness again:
    - will bring On Battery > Brightness down to 0, but keyboard still has remaining brightness
    Continue pressing FN+F10
    - On Battery > Brightness still 0, and keyboard will slowly dim and finally turn off lighting

I usually put brightness back to one key press of FN+F11 (Brightness 6), but the issue will occur again after 2-3 minutes.

    Temporary fixes I am trying:
    - complete close the Synapse and Razer Central applications
    - or, in Synapse, set Plugged-in and On Battery Brightness to the same value or set to "link"

I imagine the Synapse app gets confused about Plugged in and On Battery state, which I hope can be fixed by a software update.

Hope this can be resolved for such a wonderful laptop.

    Thank you!

    Thank you for your response!

What do you mean by repair? Reset?

I took some screenshots when it is plugged in:
    plugged.PNG battery.PNG

Then after restart or if I unplug the cable the brightness is still normal. So when I open synapse I can control the brightness from plugged in tab not from battery tab... If I change the brightness on battery tab it does nothing.
I have some pictures to see the difference:

You can see that I am changing the brightness on plugged in tab when I am on battery.

Thank you very much in advance.

    /Angelos

Got a software update to synapse to version 3.3.802.80812, and I cant replicate this issue anymore--even after 30 minutes.

Great job guys! Thank you for the quick support! VersionUpdate.PNG
